Not sure what the deal w/ Dieselfiltersonline is, but my numbers come from the dealerships (and the boxes of Ford and International filters I have in front of me).

I guess International could have changed the numbers recently .... I haven't bought any in 9 months or so.

Edit:

I found an old post from 2008 that listed the dieselfiltersonline.com numbers. They are the same now as then. The dieselfiltersonline fuel filter number is incorrect.

These are the numbers that dieselfilters has listed for the 7.3 turbo international 1825864c91/1843162c91 and the 6.0 as 1843059c91 now maybe these are old numbers, or something new?

Ford put together a video on their filters. I thought it should be included in the threads on the filter changes. The first part is on their oil filter, the last part is on their fuel filters.

Here is the link (thanks to Troy Buenger) - thought it should be available in this Tech Folder thread:

https://www.powerstrokediesel.com/index.aspx?PageId=417#

Go to the page in the link and then choose to play the video:

"Why Motorcraft® Oil and Fuel Filters?[/url]"

and ...........................

here is their info on fuel filter changing:

Stopped by NAPA to get a few items & they only had the fuel filter Napa 23899. Is this OK to use or should I return & stop at the Ford dealer? Thx in advance!

I don't think the NAPA one has the water membrane on it. But, I wouldn't use it anyway.

Also, Motorcraft did change the main filter a while back.

Ford is going to charge you a lot more money than what you can buy on-line for.

Here is the price of a Racor (they make Motorcraft)

[PFF-4616] - Racor PFF4616- Ford 6.0 Liter Turbo Diesel Fuel/Water Seperator Filters: Pick Up & Excursion-REPLACES FD-4604/FD-4616 - Diesel Filters,Additives, brake rotors, and brake pads for Chevy, Dodge and Ford Diesel Trucks

Or from a sponsor like Riffraff diesel. (these are Motorcraft)

Riffraff Diesel: 6.0L Fuel Filter Set

Thanks for all the info.

I have to ask my friend if he has a 36mm socket. I think I have everything BUT that. Even a 1" socket... pretty good for a girl

I ordered my filters from Dieselfiltersonline. about $35 each set, bought 2 just in case since I am running Bio-Diesel.

I ran my fuel to just below the 1/4 and my driveway is on an incline so we shall see how well I do .

I don't do my own Oil changes as it cost about the same to have someone do it for me and I won't get dirty
Yeah, sometimes I get to squweel about oil under my (non cared for) nails .. it is a girl thing I am allowed to do

I am wondering though, do you change the top one 1st and then the rail one, or does it really matter ?

Well, I had to go get a 36mm socket, dang that is big ! Was about $9 at advanced auto.

Got it all changed. Probably took 20 min but it took me longer as I kept forgetting things inside and having to go get them.

Easy job and I DID NOT get soaked (thanks for all the tips).

Did the on/off stuff. But it idled a bit rough. let it sit for a couple of hours and then had to go out and get fuel. Was fine at start and so far so good.

I took off the upper filter 1st and then opened up the bottom. finished the bottom and then the top.

No water in the fuel and it looked like my normal Bio-diesel.

I got this number from Dieselfilter Shopping Cart - Diesel Filters,Additives, brake rotors, and brake pads for Chevy, Dodge and Ford Diesel Trucks for $35, and shipping is $6.00

Is this the same as the Ford filter with the membrane? It says it replaces OEM 3C3Z-9N184-CA and FD-4616, made by RACOR?

I always do the lower HFCM, at less than a 1/4 tank, on an incline, and don't get soaked, don't worry about emptying the upper bowl when you do the lower first. I do three Key on, then off until pump stops before firing her up, she runs smooth every time.

Get a Fumoto valve for the oil, and changeling that is clean and a snap too.

I have time for beverages hike I wait to drain the oil completely.

I guess Parker PFF4616 with new O rings makes the new Racor FD-4616? Anybody know? Is the FD-4604 still good?

Parker - PFF4616

Certainly looks that way. Very interesting find.
