Lance,
Man you have a super nice truck. Hey dont forget what those guys were telling you about a shroud and those upper and lower radiator valance seals. They will definitely help with keeping the old Ford Mill cool. My wife loves Willow Brook Lodge. Normally when we go over for the Shades of the Past car show we stay there. Lord willing I think we all will have a good time next year. Who knows I maybe brave enough to drive to the top, ha ha

Ha ha good one Terry. Long as I got a hammer I can. I have no mechanical skills whatsoever. But when Blue fired up Saturday evening 120 miles from home man you couldnt tell me nothing. I was DA man and I drove that truck like I stole it.

Brian, Same place, same channel next year and we will have fun with all the guys and gal we met this year. Now let me tell you about the KRISPY KREAM story, when Truxx and family arrived Wed evening you could not understand a word he was saying and Marcy, his wife said they had to stop across the street for KK donuts before coming to the motel. Well I still didn't understand until later it was the KK donuts or should I say the way TRUXX eats a KK donut. I think it was Friday night around 10pm I gave marcy and my granddaughter Courtney a 50 dollar bill and said to get me a case of water and some KK donuts, When they returned they had water, half gallon of milk and 3 or 4 boxes of those KK donuts for TRUXX and I got I think it was SIX DOLLARS in change.
Now for the good part, remember I couldn't understand TRUXX, listen up now----------THIS MAN TAKES A WHOLE KK DONUT AND PUTS THE WHOLE THING IN HIS MOUTH, the whole thing at once and a drink of milk and then another--- get this 4, I said four donuts in 30 seconds. Let me tell you a dozen KK donuts don't last long around Truxx so don't ever offer to buy the donuts but we sure did have a blast for 4 days, the next night someone or more bought Pizza and I ain't even gonna say how he eats Pizza, I will say that everyone from KY. don't eat like him, Garry

Melissa,
I wanted the old school look and it took me 6 months to find a set of Cal Custom valve covers up for auction on ebay. Cal Custom valve covers were produced in the 1960's and to me, represent old school hot rodding. I stayed up until 2am to win the autction (what we will do for our trucks). When they arrived in the mail, I polished them out to look like they do.

Donald,
I haven't forgot about the advice the gentlemen told me regarding my radiator uppper/lower valance seals. I really appreciate the advice and the manner in which they gave it (very tasteful). Once I recover financially from the trip (repainting running board, $400 dollars for fuel, hotel, etc...) I will begin making the recommended changes. That is what I love about the show, you always learn something new.

They're awesome! I want some. That's the look I want as well, but every set of finned aluminum ones I find have Cobra or something on them. I can't find any valve covers that really do it for me. I must admit when I first looked at your engine, I was like, that's nice, looks good...then I realized it was an FE, and was like, Sweet! It looks great.

Yes, FE's are great engines, but very difficult to make look good. I looked at all versions of valve covers including the Ford Motorsports Lemans/Cobra finned valve covers and the new Edelbrock finned valve covers. I discovered the Cal Customs and the search began.
I also did my best to eliminate excess wiring (one wire alternator, DUI on wire distributor) and attempted to tuck my accessories down low (ac compressor, power steering pump). I believe it turned out pretty clean for an FE. Even though it might not look as good as other engines, you can't beat the torque or sound of an FE. They are awesome!!

Darn skippy! I love my FE, the sound is like no other. My dad keeps saying, "FEs are outdated, there's more aftermarket for a 351W and you can make more power or let's put the 429 out of the Bronco in it with a C6..."
I love my FE and wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
