I agree it was great to meet everybody and I don't know what you folks did but as we were eating supper friday night, my wife was EXCITED about working on the truck and finishing it someday.
Well, yeah! Nothing like seeing a buncha trucks and all the fun you can have at a truck show to get you motivated for next time.
Did you pick up the flyer at the vendor with seats and seat belts about the show/moonshine thing in Hiawassee? I think I'm gonna go to that, I can PM you details if you didn't see the info. I wish I hada remembered you were the one from Georgia, I would have said more, haha. There used to be a decent little junkyard up there in Ball Ground, not far off 575. Is it still there?

Aww, thanks. I think I'm gonna question my choice of black for a looooong time, haha. It rained on me about 10 miles from home, so I had to dry it off before I put it up and I was already tuckered out! [If I hadn't stopped to take pics at a covered bridge and stopped by mama's, I'd have gotten home before the rain, oh well.]
It was wonderful to meet everyone. Thank you for including me and being so friendly. Maybe later I'll write up a little bit about what this meant to me and how long I've been waiting to "fit in" somewhere.
Next year I will definitely be there early, because I think I missed some good cruising. Plus I'll have my front end re-done so it'll be a little safer to handle on those curves, and power disc brakes so I can stop when I get to the bottom, lol.
Brian, Gary and Terry...I came back down last night about 11 and ya'll were all gone. I figured it was because I warned ya'll I would be back and ya split before I got down there. I see how it is.
Just kiddin with ya'll. I look forward to next year and I might even talk a little more. I'm a bit on shy side.
Hey Melissa, the "old" folks wanted to go to bed. (just kidding Garry) we actually went in and got everything packed and ready to leave this morning. Nice to have met you Melissa and hopefully next year, you'll get a chance to talk more. I'll promise to let you have a chance to talk.

THendrix glad we could help. I didnt get a chance to speak with you at Rick's (Carolina Classic) but I think I introduced myself. Melissa I could tell you were shy you tried to duck outta the group picture. We see how you are. Lord Willing we will all be able to get together next year and have an even better time with more folks.

TRUXX, okay it's time for your sweetie to start posting AND e-mailing some pictures because the only ones I took were at the old mill, Linda wanted to see all the pics so I showed her the 12 pics of Homade in front of the mill and she said I was nuts, what do you think about that, I told her I didn't need to take pics when MY PEOPLE (The pro's in our group would take care of the old man) and hopefuly someone will change my avatar so everyone can see the new and improved version of Homade , man Courtney and I really had a grest time with everyone this week,I was sooooooo happy on the trip home I had to sit on my hands to keep from waving at everyone when 9teen56 and Homade went cruising by on the way home. Hay Tom, Wipe that smile off your face, she is much too young for you and to tell you the truth I am getting tired of hearing about Tom and his Orange and his Lime Green coe's, thanks everyone for being so cool with Courtney, she said she had never met a nicer bunch of OLD PEOPLE,I guess you can say that when your 17. Well everyone thanks again for making this week a week to remember, Garry and Courtney
I guess that I should not come up there in july..I was so looking to driving up on the 17th... I could change color if that would work...and bring Paula
I know a ac man in pigeon forge but could not find anyone to give a card too. LoL. Great to meet the ones that I did and some of my old boys that took care of me. Had a decent time.
48fordcoe, what did your sweetie say about coming up for the speedway thing, talk her in to coming, we'll have a blast, I don't have red carpet to roll out but I do have a red living room, Garry

Hey, I understand "old" folks. I was hurtin pretty bad Friday myself, my hips were bothering me from riding in that truck all day. I'm sure I'll talk more next year, I usually stay on the side lines and take it all in before I jump into anything.

Yeah, I'm sneaky like that.
Here's the pics I got of specific trucks. I'll upload more tomorrow.
Coolest interior mod ever, the hood emblem arm rests. They work very well, too. I gots to sit in it.
That's all for now, I'm going to bed.
Oh almost forgot... My Little Black hanging out like he's somebody, haha.

Just got home. I had a great time. Met some really nice people... but shattered almost every mental image I had for every one based on their user name and comments. haha. I learned more about trucks, motors, transmissions, and motorized coolers than I was expecting... couldn't wait to get home to put some of those ideas into my project. Will definately be back and next year with sun block.

I think the thing in Hiawassee is called the moonshine festival. It would be great if you could give me the info because I didn't get it.
As for the junk yard, it is still there but I don't know how much longer. About a year ago they pretty much cleaned it out and I expected them to close it and sell it but they are still there. I do know the old man that used to run it sold and from what I hear it is almost impossible to buy anything and they won't let you go in and look. Some folks from around here think they are trying to hide something but I don't know.
Truxx; ya we met. I was the one in the black shirt and Georgia hat with my wife.

http://gammoonshinecruizin.com/ I was just checking out the site. I would like to go, but that is a little bit of a ride from Villa Rica. I'll see how my funds have recovered after this truck building process, haha.

Wouldn't surprise me if they were hiding something, haha. That place was rough, there were kids zooming around in ratty old toyota cars like it was a dirt track. I found some of the bucking horse emblems off a Bronco and started once to just slip them in my pocket and thought, naaaah, I won't do that. He wanted $50 for the dang things! "You know they sell for like $25 each." I was like, yeah, new ones! So I told him to keep 'em. I did score some of the 90 model F150/Bronco center caps with the black centers, they're hard to find and I picked up something else there that he sold me pretty cheap.
My now ex boyfriend was with me at the time, and being the guy that he was, he went back up there and bought those Bronco emblems and tried to give them to me after we broke up. [We were actually broken up at the time we went, but still friends.] I told him, I wasn't upset that I didn't get the emblems, I was totally upset that I lost out on the treasure of finding them. It was the thrill of the hunt, those little Bronco horses are hard to find and so finding them in some out of the way junkyard was like finding a hidden treasure. So him buying them and trying to give them to me, just wasn't gonna work. He never did understand me like he thought he did. I have no idea what he did with them, I refused to take the Bronco horses.
But anyhow, yeah, that junkyard had some good stuff in it, I hate we've lost another good 'yard. The only thing I love more than sitting around at a good Ford truck show, is scrounging around a good junkyard lookin' for hidden treasures. All my favorite local 'yards are closing up, too.
[/end thread hijack, haha.]

Kim, Andie, and I had a great time at the Great Smokey Mountain (GSM) F100 Run. We can’t thank Brian, Gary, and Terry enough for taking care of our truck during and after the rain storm Friday night. As you can see by the posted pictures, we were determined to take our truck to the show even though it was missing a few parts (door handles, ashtray, and hood). I was hoping that it would not rain during the show, but as luck would have it, it rained Friday night after we left the show (9:30) for our hotel (we stayed at the Willow Brook Lodge). Brian, Gary, and Terry covered my truck bed and motor with plastic so it would not get wet. After the rain stopped, they cleaned my truck up and had it ready for me when I arrived the next morning. What great guys!!
Kim and Andie enjoyed spending the day at the pool with Courtney (Gary’s granddaughter) on Saturday. While they spent time at the pool, I enjoyed talking trucks with all the truckers. It was especially nice to talk with guys who actually built their trucks. Thanks for a great weekend and we are looking forward to the show next year.
