Well, we're almost done. My brother, God bless him, worked on it all day yesterday. Him and my brother in law have worked on it more than I have. For one thing, I've been working every day til 6 and for another, my nerves are fried. I haven't had the patience or energy to do anything more than work a screw driver on something easy.
Apparently my hood latch has disappeared. The U shaped funky loop thing on the hood and the catch/release part. I also can't find the bolts for the mirrors and I don't have barrel nuts for my fender emblems. The body shop still has my tailgate and the chrome stop still has my bumpers.
Ugh.

Although I have not been able to change the rearend in my truck as I had planned, I am still planning to drive it. It's normally a 3 hour drive for me , but might take a little longer this time if I run mostly in the right lane and hold the RPMs down a little. I run at approx 3000 RPM at 60 MPH. I hope to get there at about 5pm on Friday.I plan to put a sign on my truck with my user name so anyone on here will know I'm a FTE member. My 56 is a red ratrod looking truck with a 472 Cadillac engine. It has a 472 V8 decal in the back window if you see it with the hood closed.I'm praying for everyone to have a safe trip.
Well, I went to the show today. There were a lot of great looking trucks! Unfortunately, as hot as it was, I couldn't justify sticking around another 3 hours until 4:30, so I wimped out and went back home.

I modified the list. These were the folks I got to meet at the get together at Carolina Classics. Thanks again Rick for letting us meet there. For those not there Rick took at chrome hubcap and started to send it around like they do in church . I left about 2:00pm today. As everyone my truck is injected. I stopped at a rest area 90 miles from pigeon forge and about 110 from my place. I come and ole blue would not crank. I knew right away my problem, fuel pump. Good for me that my buddy who did the install put a frame mounted pump, factory 90' model Ranger pump, I got my hammer out and gave it a tap or two .... still nothing. I wait about 5 minutes turn the switch and I hear the sweet sound of the pump and let me tell you guys and gal (Melissa) I drove that 55" like it was stolen haulin tail to Middle TN. I get home and the truck cranks better than it ever has. Still gonna change the pump out though. Frame mounted fuel pump comes in handy. I had a good time at the show and me and MT54 (Mike) struck up a good friendship talking about families and such. Homade kept me full of GOOD orange soda and Terry coordinated different events. It was good to see everybody and place faces with handles(usernames). Melissa has a nice black F100. Done rambling here are some pics.

Hey All,
Had a great time at the show, it was so nice to put some faces with names that I've been seeing. I enjoyed greatly the good conversations with all, although at times I wasn't sure if we were talking about tar or a tire but I just acted like I knew what we were talking about.. (Gary/Homade &Terry/Truxx1956). Thanks guys for the hospitality and the good times.
I also was afforded the ride of a lifetime in Tom's 48 COE to the top of the mountian, and we made it all the way back down...(on the black top) Thank you so much Tom/48fordcoe.
Brian/9teen56f100 it was great to meet you. your truck is beautiful
Don/Tacson I'm so glad we finally had a chance to talk after the brief meetings in the past, It was a true pleasure.
Oh by the way.. I rolled up to my door step 5:30pm Fri. 11 hrs straight. All good just can't move my face from the windburn.
It was a great time

Aww, thanks. I think I'm gonna question my choice of black for a looooong time, haha. It rained on me about 10 miles from home, so I had to dry it off before I put it up and I was already tuckered out! [If I hadn't stopped to take pics at a covered bridge and stopped by mama's, I'd have gotten home before the rain, oh well.]
It was wonderful to meet everyone. Thank you for including me and being so friendly. Maybe later I'll write up a little bit about what this meant to me and how long I've been waiting to "fit in" somewhere.
Next year I will definitely be there early, because I think I missed some good cruising. Plus I'll have my front end re-done so it'll be a little safer to handle on those curves, and power disc brakes so I can stop when I get to the bottom, lol.
Brian, Gary and Terry...I came back down last night about 11 and ya'll were all gone. I figured it was because I warned ya'll I would be back and ya split before I got down there. I see how it is.
Just kiddin with ya'll. I look forward to next year and I might even talk a little more. I'm a bit on shy side.
