i have a 77 e100 van with a 351w i also have a 89 ext cab ranger .the motors bad in the ranger and the vans body has seen its better days, was going to junk both then i thought hummm.thanks for any help.
It should be doable with some parts from an explorer and parts made to do an engine swap from summit racing. I've seen pics of a 460 in a ranger. I'm sure it'll take a little fab too.

Friend of mine said that Ranger V8 swaps are quite easy, I'm sure the kits make it easier.

I have not done it yet but am preparing to swap a 351w into my `97 Ranger 4x4. the 5.0/302 swap requires a small modification to the heater box on the firewall, simple motor mount plates, trans xmember and mount, and beating flat the seam where the firewall meets the floor. the 351w is both taller and wider than the 5.0 and i`ve been told that while it might be possible without, a bodylift makes it so much easier. you should use a dual sump oil pan ( so you can mount the motor lower ) from a crown victoria with a351w ( police car? ) the pan is probably available new from ford or the aftermarket. `The Ranger Station` website has lots of swaps, info etc. well worth an hour or 2 of reading. good luck on your project!
