My buddy is selling his truck in a couple days and was taking out speakers, afe intake, and satelite radio. I go to start the truck and i have no power to windows, no power to radio and no domelight when i switch it on and off. Dont know what i did but none of this works and everything else does.
I checked all fused all were good. I searched the forum for a solution and they said something about the automatic delay relay and i bought a new one and nothing still. I am not sure what else to do i checked with voltmeter if i had anypower to the window or radio and nothing. But the radios clock works and when i turn on the light it illuminates but doesnt turn on.
Please help selling truck soon and can sell it like this. The truck is a 2002 7.3L Crewcab. f350
ok been reading a little more into this and found that some people have changed the fuse for the instrument panel and it worked so i will do this tomorrow but does anyone have a clue were the battery saver relay is?? i will let you all know how it turns out tomorrow. Thank you.
this is interesting, from time to time my truck will do the same except only for a few minutes(appx 2-5) and then everything will start to work..ie, windows, radio and dome lite

bankes power elbow w monster exhaust
preditor programer(changing to DP when taxes come in)
I had my radio die once like this as well.... I pulled the deck out and plugged it back in and it worked.... Unhooking the batteries I'm sure would do the same trick.. !! Its worth a shot... Disconnect the batteries if all else fails and let thing reset themselves !!
At least on the 2001 pickup, the radio also has a fuse in the battery junction box - #29 - 20 amps.
Both the power windows and the courtesy lights are controlled by the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) mounted on the back of the central junction box. This module grounds the control relays to keep power on after you shut off the key. It also controls everything while the key is on. Even the dome light switch on the light switch uses the GEM to control the dome light.
If you have good power at the fuses, and if you jumper from power to the lights directly and they work, then it looks like a bad GEM.
I am also having a similar issue that just started this winter. When my truck is cold inside(below 40 degrees) my check engine light stays on,radio, power windows and wipers do not work. After a few seconds 5-10 you here a relay click then the radio comes on,windows work and check engine light goes off. Wipers will not work until I run the heater and warm up the cab. Can anyone help me with this issue? I have checked all the fuses, wiring, grounds etc. Ford tells me they have nothing on this issue but I have found many posts on different sites.
