Yeah, I just read a test on the raptor today in 4-wheel off road magazine. They said when the raptor comes out next fall that it will have the 5.4 3 valve, but the 6.2 will be available by winter at 400 hp and 400 foot pounds. The 6.2 is going to be a replacement for the 5.4 in the super duty. The 6.2 will also be available in whats left of the expedition/navigator. Other than the raptor, the 6.2 won't be available in the F-150, at least thats there story now.

O YEAH, they said the 6.2 won't be called the boss or huricane, it will be refered to as just the 6.2.

Looking at the pictures of the engine, I'm wondering if that is SOHC or pushrod.

The cam/rocker covers seem low for a SOHC set up.

Also note that the spark plug wires seem to run to the traditional pushrod location near the exhaust. It wouldnt make sense for the coil packs to be located so low on the engine, running up to the spark plugs.

I also dont see the hump at the front of the cam/rocker covers where the timing chain/camgear should be located. All 4.6/5.4/6.8 engines have them.

I haven't seen any officially released specs on it, but the pictures make me wonder.

Same crappy looking, taped up wiring harnesses though.

If you look at the left-hand-side of the engine (right side in the pic) on the front of the engine, you can see the timing cover coming up to the front of the head. Once you see it, you can see it on the other side too...

not a big fan for the grill its a little ugly IMO, a billet stainless grill can fix that though.

I like it!! I would probably put in a billet grille maybe (it is growing on me very quickly though). I LOVE the front fenders! It really does look like a Raptor from Jurrassic Park when you look at it. I could never afford one new, but I would love to look for one a couple years down the road.

I believe I read in the November/December '08 Truck Trend magazine the Raptor and the F100 have been postponed or canceled until further notice. Both due to the current market and economy condition. Kinda figured this might happen, maybe next time.....

Enjoy,
