curious heater question

I've noticed when starting my 2008 in cold weather that the air blowing from the vents starts getting warmer within 15 seconds. I searched the forums and read the owners manual to see if there was something to decrease the warm up times..only found a reference to delayed upshift if the temp was below 23* and the engine temp was below 100*.

Is there some source of auxilary heat (electrical, etc.) or is there warm coolant getting to the heater core that quickly?
