air bag light

Well I posted a few weeks ago about my air bag light kept coming on it would blink 4 times then 2 and it did it for about 5 times. Well took it to the dealer this morning he just called me and said bad news the warranty wont cover it. Its 285 that labor and parts and everything. I told him I cant affoard it right now cause I just got laid off. So my question is there anywhere I can get this part. Its the front sensor. He said the wires got corroded and made the sensor go bad. Weird thing is my light doesnt always come on and it started to do it after they fixed my 4 wheel drive. So just wana find a place I can get this cheap. He said the worst that will happen is if I get in an accident and the light is on the airbags wont deploy. That can be a serious thing. Thanks guys

Have you tried the auto wreckers?

Or if you like just disconnect the bag.

is it the front passengers seat weight sensor?

If so you can wire it to always be armed....or disconnect and its never armed.
If the light bothers you, remove the bulb.

We have a few Ford parts guys on the site. Ed, FTE/parts-guy, should be able to get one for you at a good price...

I think you can find him under the sponsors link or the users list...

I havent been driving it a whole lot right now due to being layed off. I drive my snowmobile where I got to go. But Im looking on the internet at parts dealers to see if I can find a cheaper one. Its weird cause it wont come on the out of no where like 4 days later it will. I might have to take it back. Just would like to get a job first.

There was a thread about this about a year ago. (Click Here) The sensor seems to corrode and go bad. It looks like FTEPARTSGUY.com (Click Here) has them for right under $40.00. I believe the part number is showing up as 6L3Z14B004AA but I would email them to be sure.
