'42 Ford 1/2 Ton truck

Someone local has a '42 Ford P.U. for sale .Has been stored since '76 .Is the yr. truck rare ? Asking price is 10K . Is this figure realistic ? Should I inquire and take some pics ? One would think for 10K it should be quite choice .

46fordtruck has a good reputation on FTE. 46fordtruck has a good reputation on FTE.
While they are not "rare" in the sense of the word, they are harder to find than the '46-'47's (which are nearly identical). The '42 production was cut short due to the War. Depends on the condition for 10G. That kind of money is putting you closer to a truck with very good paint, running, needing maybe some mechanical work (tune up, some minor adjustments), but not much. Basically a good 20 footer (looks great 20 ft away). If it was me, I would pay 10 for a good driver truck, something dependable, but knowing it's not going to win any awards.
