Need independent mechanic in Fox River Valley area

Went to the dealer today because of a significant oil leak. They said I need a new HPOP for $1700.

Based on what I read here the HPOP rarely needs to be completely replaced; rather, it's usually leaky o-rings, a drain plug or something.

Which brings me to my question. Is there an independent mechanic somewhere in the St Charles/Geneva/Batavia/Aurora area that will fix this for less $ as opposed to just replacing the whole unit?
