I would like to start planing a spring chapter Meet and Greet. Any ideas? I realize we are a big state, and people will have to travel, but can we come up with a place or event we can all meet at? Post your ideas here, and lets see where this goes!

That park in Bend, not sure what the name is. Its around the Les Schwab Amphitheatre, nice and kind a " central" to the whole state.

Neat park (been there) but still doesn't solve the problem. MOST members are on the west side of the mountains, and would have to travel farther. We need something closer to the west side if we're going to get their participation. An "event" would also be better, as there would be costs that would be born by those putting on the "event"! I thought about the Portland Swap Meet in April, but that is such a "mad house" we probably couldn't find each other..........

I guess thats just me, I use any excuse to get out of the valley and go over east. Salem area? Portland is VERY crowded and some folks might shy away, just my unqualified opinion.

I've thought about "splitting" the state into "westside" and "eastside" (it's within the Chapter guidelines) and picking a "westside" assistant Chapter Leader. This would allow us to have more local GTG's so more people could participate, and have one statewide meet per year, but I'm still not sure I want to do that............Your thoughts?

It might be a consideration, taking into account the geographic "boundary", east/ west of Cascades..............Can I defect to the "eastern bloc"?

Depending on when a GTG is, I can always use it as an excuse to go see Mom in Cottage Grove and/or my kids and grandkids in the Albany area. So anything along the I-5 corridor as far N as Salem works pretty well for me.
Something in a park or campground, where we can bring RV's, also might make things easier.

Maybe something in the Springfield/ Eugene area, a fairly central north/south/east/west crossroads, easy for folks coming from the east as well.

Bend is good. It's a good town and lots of recreation. As for "MOST members are on the west side of the mountains, and would have to travel farther", boo hoo (LOL). It seems there's always something going on in Portland, or the Tillamook State Forest, and not many other places. Those guys/gals would actually have to get off their butts and do some driving for the best members of the best website in the WORLD!

I would go for Bend, give the web footed members a chance to get out of the valley.
