I would like to start planing a spring chapter Meet and Greet. Any ideas? I realize we are a big state, and people will have to travel, but can we come up with a place or event we can all meet at? Post your ideas here, and lets see where this goes!
Neat park (been there) but still doesn't solve the problem. MOST members are on the west side of the mountains, and would have to travel farther. We need something closer to the west side if we're going to get their participation. An "event" would also be better, as there would be costs that would be born by those putting on the "event"! I thought about the Portland Swap Meet in April, but that is such a "mad house" we probably couldn't find each other..........
I guess thats just me, I use any excuse to get out of the valley and go over east. Salem area? Portland is VERY crowded and some folks might shy away, just my unqualified opinion.
I've thought about "splitting" the state into "westside" and "eastside" (it's within the Chapter guidelines) and picking a "westside" assistant Chapter Leader. This would allow us to have more local GTG's so more people could participate, and have one statewide meet per year, but I'm still not sure I want to do that............Your thoughts?
Depending on when a GTG is, I can always use it as an excuse to go see Mom in Cottage Grove and/or my kids and grandkids in the Albany area. So anything along the I-5 corridor as far N as Salem works pretty well for me.
Something in a park or campground, where we can bring RV's, also might make things easier.
maybe hoodoo? or hmmmmmmm i dunno, euegene would work for me. but id show up in the focus, so dont get all ooh youre in a little car attitude on me k? ive prob driven a bigger rig then most people on here i was a truck driver for bout a year.
Bend is good. It's a good town and lots of recreation. As for "MOST members are on the west side of the mountains, and would have to travel farther", boo hoo (LOL). It seems there's always something going on in Portland, or the Tillamook State Forest, and not many other places. Those guys/gals would actually have to get off their butts and do some driving for the best members of the best website in the WORLD!
