2009 Expedition

I have been searching for a 2009 Expedition EL locally. But I noticed there is none available. I read on one of the websites that Ford has postponed production until April 2009. Isn't that around the time when they usually start production for the next model year(2010)?

Well, it might be but have you read a paper lately? The automakers are near extinction so all bets are off. They want to sell what they have before making more.

I'm dangerously under-informed on this, but since you haven't been overwhelmed with answers I'll give it a shot.

I heard Ford is moving the Expedition production to a different plant and that plant won't be ready until the Spring. Normally that would be a big set-back to sales, but in this environment it might be a cash-conserving advantage.

Use Ford's website inventory search buyzip code function.

I've been searching there for 4 weeks now and there are still a bunch out there, just not many with the rear load leveling suspension in my color.

Did find one in the NW thankfully and once they get the OOS title cleared up maybe I'll get a chance to drive it. After 2 weeks of screwing around...

Production is being moved to a new plant, in Louisville Ky. Should be starting to build in March.
