Is it still a pearl white (you see a pearl effect in bright light)?

Thanks and enjoy your new Expy.
Thank you.

I do like the White Platinum Tri-Coat on the 2009. I wasn't sure at first about the pearl effect, and I initially preferred the 2008 white, which was called White Sand Tri-Coat. Yes, you do see the pearl effect most in the bright light. I do like the new color, though. Not necessarily better than the 2008, but different.

What is different with the White Platinum vs White Sand if it can be described? I'm not sure if I can find one locally to see before I decide and hunt one down.

Regardless I'm pretty sure it is going to be this color as our neighbor had the white Limited Aviator and we always loved how the white looked especially in the sun.

I don't know if I can describe it very well. The best I can say is the White Platinum on the 2009 appears to have a slight metallic fleck where the White Sand on the 2008 is more flat.

I decided I was OK with the 2009 color because I definitely wanted a 2009, primarily because I read somewhere to get the second year of the new transmission and because I wanted the new version of the nav system. And I prefer a version of white to the other color alternatives.

It's best to see in person if possible. Sorry I can't give you a better description.

Thanks for trying. I think we are pretty set on it anyways.

Enjoy the new ride!

I have an 08 with the White Sand Tri-Code and it appears to be slightly off white and have a pearl affect in the sun. I haven't seen the 09 white yet but will pull up beside one and see if I can capture a pic with the differnences at all.

Way off topic but can someone confirm the tranny sytle. I know the 6R75 is in the 07/08 and 6R80 is in the 08/09 but when did the 6R80 get introduced into the 08's, and how do you tell what you have?

Thank you kindly for the offer but it is not necessary. It is almost impossible to capture the pearl effect or any pearl-like paint as I have seen many pics online and none do any justice to what I have seen in person.

Sorry I can't help about the transmission question.
