302 in place of460

i have a1985 f 350 4 wheel drive independent front suspension.was wondering if the oil pan would clear the cross member.the motor is out of a 1977 2wheel drive or would i need different oil pan. or i have a 300 6 cyl out of a 1980 2 wheel drive would either one of these work or do i need different oil pans. thanks

Never mind the oilpan, you need a different trans to install any of the small blocks, totally different bolt pattern.

you dont have to wory about the damn trans its the bell housing that will need changin i think the oil pan should fit

all i needed to to know about was the oil pan because all trucks are 4 speeds manual . 302 and 300 are in complete running trucks. that way i can use motor mount brackets bell houseing and what ever else all complete as a unit.

my next guse would be to meser the distenc between th pan and the moter mounts on each truck and that should tellya but im thinking the 300 pan and the 302 pan are farly close

The 302 is gutless and underpowered for an F350 unless you're never hauling anything but groceries. The 300 is the better choice. Are all the trucks the same transmission? If no you'll want to swap the transmissions with them. Is the 460 dead or are you just looking to swap?

I'd rebuild the 460. That motor's a beast. The 300 or 302 in a F350 is gonna be a dog.
