I am behind the times I admit.
But finally getting ready to join this modern are, and have a website for my business.

Figure it might be good if i can keep it more local, like say at least in BC, and heck if your a Ford fan that rocks to.

So let me know if thats what you do.

What kind of business?

 

My shop , I do a little of everything, but special in buildind custom mountain sleds, and their parts. Also almost anything to do with 2 strokes, from turbo's to just regular overhauls, but much of its hopping them up.
Some quads, street bikes, dirt bikes, and building custom truck decks, and such.

I have done motors for cars and trucks for racing and such also, but its not my favorite thing to do.

Sometimes I get asked to just weld stuff up for people, but I am not a pro fabricator, so usually just accept smaller jobs in that area.

 

I need a custom deck for my 79 as I cant find a good box.
Do you do stuff like that?

Because yes i do want to do a little fence, and also put a gate across my driveway , so when we go away I can lock it.

And yes I do all sorts of custom decks, just need to know what material you want it out of, and size, and frame rail width, what lighting etc.

With a nice brown steel gate.

I do all types of fencing all over but Canmore is a little further than I usually go.

 

Large log fence posts, strung with sharp barbed wire is what i really want.

Rails are easy for people to climb, and dogs and such to go under.

I want to prevent tresspassing, and keep my dogs in, and the neighbours dogs out.

Do you do barbed wire?

 

Yup we do barbwire.
Best for dogs and people is farm fence with a strand of barbwire on top.

Farm fence is the squares that get bigger towards the top.

Or cedar panels?

 

The cedar fence went up the middle of a guys driveway.
Neigbours had a small fight about the property line.

 

Heres a dog pen made with no climb wire.
Its 2"x4" squares.

And those posts arent crooked its just the way the picture was taken.

 

Are the cedar panels low maintenance?

Cost?

I want to have it easy to take care of and not people or dog friendly.

But not spend a mountain of cash if possible.
What would say 400 feet installed cost of both?

 

You dont even want to know what 400' of cedar panels would cost you.
The materials alone without labour or cement are $14 per ft. for cedar.
Then you have to stain it and thats kind of expensive.

If you want a simple website where you show what you can do (pictures and text), then almost any geeky teenager can do the work. A semiprofessional program like 'Dreamweaver' ($400US and up) is very useful and allows movement of pictures. Netscape Composer is FREE and can do most of this work, but no movement. Note that anyone can contact us through the site and that the site is easily changeable.

If you want your customers to buy your stuff, from your catalogue, online, and have access to 'Paypal' etc. then you need a professional webmaster. This can be very costly.

There will be 'template' sites out there where you use an existing format and you just substitute your pictures and text. Make absolutely sure that you are not breaking copyright or putting yourself in a position of being accused of theft.

If you went to your local high school and put up a notice asking for web help, you will probably get multiple responses. If the High school has a computer science course, the teacher might be willing to get the students to make up some websites to your specifications as a routine term assignment. At least you could ask the teacher who's a good kid he/she might recommend. This could be the best route.
