Good morning, suppose to rain pretty good here on thursday and then there could be a potential big snow storm for saturday, or it could just be a dusting, all depends on the track of the storm of course.

When we first bought our computerized test equipment, the service center was in Canada. When our machines needed service, they were held up at customs on a regular basis. It was customary to have a two week delay. The company opened a service center in the US because of this, or so I'm told.

I can relate... one of my old town jobs was working at a warehouse. We regularly shipped loads to Canada, and most of the truckers were regulars who knew the drill... fax the paperwork to the border, let them inspect it if they wanted, etc. But one time that sticks in my mind was when a new driver on his first run north of the 49th thought he'd be able to just breeze through as easily as crossing a state line. Apparently he did'nt want to break the seal on his trailer and let the border guards have a look inside. I was working the dispatch office when Canadian customs called wanting to know if the guy had actually gotten the load from us. I found the paperwork on our end and told them that he had and what the load was. The driver had not only not fax'ed the paperwork ahead, he'd put it in the trailer, which was sealed, which he thought he was'nt supposed to open to let them inspect. He'd been there for something like three days, because he'd had the bad luck of getting there over a holiday weekend. And to make it worse, he was'nt an American OR a Canadian citizen. Poor bloke could'nt catch a break anywhere.
