hardwire fog lights with independent switch

I am looking at adding headlights and dont have a pull out switch.

Is there a way to add a simple toggle switch as I already have the wiring in for them

thank you

Shouls be simple enough, trace the wires back and add an aux switch in the cab for the fog lights.

I did this to my truck, after a while on this site I found out my Lariat had the pull out switch. Anyway its pretty easy to wire up ( 1 hot, one grd, and one aux, if you get a lighted switch ).

IIRC some of the trucks had the pull out switch but there was no wiring on it.

The PO did some weird things on my truck and removed things like the fog lights, my temp sensor for the overhead display and some other random small items??

Figure out what style of switch and lights you want then figure out where you want the switch. Tape something hard, like a plastic switch box where you want the switch and let it stay a few days. Count how many times you bump it, knock it off, look at it annoyingly, etc. Then you'll know if that's where you want it.

Get the proper Bosch relay and wiring for the lights you choose.
Decide where you want the lights, you can do this while you play with your artificial switch. Mount lights, relay and switch. Find the proper customer access wires by the power steering pump and locate the same color inside. Use that wire for your toggle (or whatever type you choose).

Only thing you'll need to figure out is if you want them forever hot or key hot.
Always hot? Tap the battery with the proper fuse.
Key hot? Find the cust access wire that is key hot.

Don't drill any holes anywhere visible until you have thought about it for at least a couple-few days.

Sorry I'm new here and not sure how to post and all that. I have kinda the same question. The pull out switch for my fog lights broke. So I'm wondering which wires I can splice into and put my fog lights on a toggle switch. I have an 01 f250 with factory fog lights. I know someone will tell me to buy a new switch but I'm a broke college kid trying to slow rebuild my truck.

Wiring up a switch to power the yellow wire on the back of the headlight switch will control the fog light relay.
