40,190 for the base model platinum and that has an invoice of about 35,000 and you can apply a $3000 rebate on that truck. If they are trying to charge you anymore than $42k for a fully loaded or $32k for a base model then they are trying to have you over. The market is still slow and any more than invoice they are taking the piss. There have been people who have got fully loaded platinums for $40k without any type of pin. I think i got mine for a great price and ain't worried if anyone got there's cheaper. I'm happy because i was nearly going to pay $38K for a loaded 08 lariat but choose the 09. At the time there were no rebates when i ordered the truck but when it turned up there was $3000 of extra rebates. Otherwise it would have been $6000k over the 08 lariat.

There are so many around here! I saw 15 today alone. We love trucks in my area, and my dealer is having no issue selling them. And they dont deal very well...

I think it has a lot to do with those who are buying these trucks are businesses or older people that don't do much online. most younger- about middle age people don't have as much expendable income and are tightening their belts in an unstable economy.

Got the word from the home office that we are getting a 5% pay cut to help the company.

Guess I'll be waiting a little longer to get a new truck and sell my '96.

I disagree.....i've seen plenty of younger people getting into new vehicles lately...my local dealer has virtually no trucks in stock, and they're getting them by the semi load weekly....

fonefiddy is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I dunno, I have yet to see one on the road around here. Kind of odd, considering there's over 100K peeps in the area.

Well whats it matter if i give you the dealers names i use. Clearly you don't believe any of the prices people are getting these for. West coast may be more expensive then thats your problem not mine as I'm driving around in my fully loaded platinum i got for 41k so I'm not worried. Maybe you should take a look at the other posts of people who have bought platinums and you will see that everyone is getting them around the same price depending on options. Theres plenty of other forums with platinum owners on also. Perhaps they are all lying.

Oh, they will drop prices. There are so many unsold cars sitting on the docks, and lots that they have no place to put them all.

It would be nice if they thought like that but Ford would rather have them sitting on the lots than not make the proper margins on them. The same could be said for circuit city for example. They are about ready to close down so why not cut prices to sell equipment. Well they have to make a certain amount of profit to make it worth selling the stuff they sell. Drop below that margin and you will go bankrupt.

Maybe they all have the same idea as you...as long as it runs good keep it!!

I haven't seen many but there are a couple around where I live. I do know they don't stay long on the dealer lot near where I work!!

The local dealers here have sold a couple but I have not seen any on the road yet. I keep hoping that when I get mine it will be one of the first in the area.
