FYI: PE covers tend to need the rails lubricated a couple of times a year. Use graphite or beeswax. Also, the round lock turn piece and the piece where you put your fingers to open/close the cover needs to have Armoral or something similiar. If you don't keep a protectorant on those pieces, they will fade significantly.

I was told by the PE reps that the cover should be taken care of like paint. To this end, the silicone instant detailers make a decent lube. If you spray the cover down when you wash/detail the truck, it should be fine. Spray on waxes stick in the pores and make it look like the cover has faded.

Armoral is a big no-no to a lot of tonneau manufactures. It contains a dryer in it that sucks the moisture out of the vinyl. Formula 303 is considered one of the best products, but there are a lot of other good choices.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

I agree with the Armoral comment. I probably should not have even suggested it. Better is 303 Aerospace or Just Once (justonce.com)

I have a a JackRabbit (the vinyl one) on my F150 for two years. I LOVE IT. I just removed it to sell my truck and I'm now shopping for a cover for my new F350 LB. The Full Metal JackRabbit is about $300 more. I think I still like the jack rabbit better. I've never had a need to put weight on it. When I need to haul stuff, I open the lid (duh).
I am curious about the one from Truck Covers USA, but since it has the gaps, I probably won't like it much better (unless its cheaper).

Yes, my F150 Jack Rabbit is FOR SALE !!

Being a former Keystone retailer, I like Driver FX stores. Jobber on the rails is $267 and 736 for the canister. I think that's the explorer rails, the regular should be about $50 cheaper. I'd say anyone selling the set for $1000 is doing you well.
