THE hills are a 6% grade,roughly 8 mile long.It seems to pull it in the highest gear possible.

I had the problem before the TW chip. I thought it was lacking power,but did not help as far as hills.

Guess now waiting on nice day to hook up camper,and take it so they can scan while towing.

that would be the best thing to do, live data while the problem occurs.

did the tw chip make any improvement?

Yes in power,but not in shifting.

I"m ready for stage 2s and intercooler. Do you think that is to much for the pump?

2s on anything less than 17 is too much. I think twos will even set the cell on a 17 if your Really into it. Not sure though.

Well i had truck scanned while pulling the camper,and everything is ok.

He did find an intermittng cps code.I had changed about a year ago.

I believe since it's been colder,I've stayed in throttle more,and has done better.

With that said,I would like to install intercooller, and stage 2 inj. That will lead to more oil,and turbo. The question is where does one stop?

I tow with my truck for a living......I dont think I would go to stage 2's....just stage 1 and you should be ok.....you can still upgrade your turbo and put an IC on.I agree with the others that something is wrong that we are overlooking...I am running 3.55's and dont see a drop like you do with heavy loads on those grades

left feild guess.....IIRC the BD exhaust retains the cat....you still have it?.....a clogged cat can make a loss of power

yuck, i hope it has no cat, but that shuoldnt casue the stall.

so this thing shifted weird before the chip went in????? if so then you may need to look at sticking valves in the accumulator or wore out springs

My truck was having a terrible problem pulling and I live in Florida, and shifting was was weird would kick down but kick right back up. I was pulling 20,000 32Ft gooseneck, my biggest fix was of course chip,but I checked my accelerator pedal i was only getting 3.3 volts wide open ,bought a new one and fixed shifting problems and response in throttle like driving a new truck. These won't pull like 99 or newer. To me anyway but i love my truck.
