Word up my brotha . It is super addictive and im in the same boat in the funds depo, im looking at adding some power in the next 3-4 months tho lol.

SUPERCHARGE YOUR TRUCK it is very nice. It makes every time i step on the gas i get a smile. I think its worth it for the sound alone. Roush it up, i would also recommend you taking it to a roush authorized dealer. Thats where we took ours and just looking at the parts we got back, i would not recommend it for anyone who dosnt know there way around a engine pretty well.

FTE Ken what is the deal with using the Lightning balancer vs. the accessory unit they have for the 2007-2008 models? Do you have a part number?
AFAIK the only difference between the 2004-2006 and 2007-2008 install is the supplemental kit which provides more space needed for the fan. For the lower pulley Roush supplies a bracket which attaches to the block. This bracket has the pulley mounted on it and the pulley is relatively heavy due to its solid rubber core. You can can remove this entire assembly and replace it with a larger pulley (same aftermarket pulleys as the Lightning). Once you remove the assembly putting the Lightning pulley on takes only about 10 minutes.

The stock tune works fine with an additional 2lbs of boost, but I highly recommend a proper aftermarket tune for it, especially in cold weather. The stock tune has too much timing in cold weather and the fuel pump is damn near maxed out. With a 2lb pulley you can still use the standard belt but the belt tensioner needs to be pulled back far enough during installation to require (well, not require but it makes it easier) an extra set of hands. If you get a belt one size longer it'll be much easier.

I had a blower on my 2004 F150 and it rocked.
I have since sold that truck, and my current truck is just naturally aspirated.
But my 2007 Saleen car has a SC'ed 5.4 in it, and what a lot of fun it is!

Go for it, they make you smile every day.

Ken is dead on...For those interested I just got an email from a contact at Roush...here is the good news sent about 10 minutes ago!

"We will have more intercooled roushchargers on eBay. Possibly as early as tomorrow. They will be reduced from the retail price so keep your eyes open for something over the weekend."

Given the component costs, their eBay prices are firesale prices for their blowers, especially considering the warranty coverage. No one can touch them at that price, quality for quality.

Ken,
Is the LFP lower pulley kit the one to use? If so, what yr lightning do you order it for (with an 05 up 5.4l) and what # pulley ring do you use?

Use a 4lb 2001-2004 Lightning pulley. Shop around, you don't need the Lightning belt their system comes with.

Ken,
Can you compare the whipple twin screw to the Roush Eaton rotor as far as performance and drivability differences, and differences between the kits?
Other than the blower, there is a big difference in the manifold design between the two... Is tha Whipple (manifold) intercooler that much bigger that it makes the manifold twice a deep? Thanks to you or anyone with personal experience for any insight you might can add...
