94/96 CPS in a 97?

I found a source for a $16 CPS listed for 94/96 7.3L PSD. If I am not mistaken, it should work in the 97 also?

Yes it will work but the 97-03 truck also have their own $15 CPS. Check ebay. BUT be warned that some trucks don't like the new cheap sensor. Even though its a recall replacement for the old black sensors it has its own major issue when used on some trucks but it hit and miss

It'll work, I've used a 97 CPS in my 96. The only difference is the terminals on the early ones were tinned and the late ones are gold plated to be OBDII compliant. There's a possibility of galvanic corrosion between the two dissimilar metals. If you're bothered by that you should be able to get the 96 and later CPS for about the same price.

Ok, here is another question. What is the difference between the new Grey CPS and the Black CPS other than price? Has anyone had problems with the Grey CPS? Both are listed as 96.5+.

Yes I have had much problem with the gray sensor in my truck. I no longer run one but have gone back to buying every old stock black sensor I can find. Many of the 99-03 guys have experienced problems with the gray sensors as well. But most do not have any issues with the gray sensor.
