Not apples to apples comparison and even acceleration which is about the only thing they brag about is beaten by chevy 09 model and all toyota 5.7 models.
yeah cuz everyone knows the true measure of a truck is how fast u can dragrace with a load..
what a stupid test..
p.s. i always take tests like this with a grain of salt.. how do u know the GM and Ford trucks were being driven at WOT ??? u dont.. for all u know the drivers were told not to pass the Dodge..
but i beleive the Ford would lose the drag race test.. the 5.4 is simply outclassed.. its got some nice features but its def. low on HP compared to other V8's..
now why that is i have no idea.. my thinking is Ford doesnt think having the most HP in the 5.4 is the number 1 design choose for that engine.. esp given the fact they have the 6.8L in the arsenal still.. but who knows...

I couldn't believe the Tundra. It looked like it was going to come apart....I guess that's what you get with a real test instead of one showing a bunch of fans and a bridge done in CGI.
They just pick out the stuff that suits them and Forget about the other 99% of the truck thats the important stuff. Whats worse though is they compare their 2009 models against the 2008's of the Fords as they know their going to get a can of whoop ass opened on them and even the 08's are a better truck than the 09 rams.
Also i would love to see the ram get 20mpg as when i borrowed a 2009 ram a few weeks ago it didnt even get 18mpg highway. They really do twist the facts.
Seen a 08 QC Hemi get 21.4mpg with 20" wheels and 3.92 gears with my own eyes. Calculated, not overhead display. mostly flat highway@55mph.
The one i drove had the 20"s but only the 3.55 diff but basicly same setup as my 09 4x4. I can get 19 mpg from me f150 but couldnt get more than 18 from the Dodge no matter what speed i was doing. The quoted MPG is 18hwy so it's getting what they say. Not sure what system your using to calculate MPG but i done about 151 miles to snowshoe from here and when i got back i put just over 17 gallons back into the truck when i returned it to the dealer. Youe friend must have a truck filled with helium.
Why does everyone make a huge fuss over mpg's in pickup trucks? especially one or even two miles per gallon. These vehicles are made for work or in some cases just fun (if you can afford that). Ford has always been a bit behind on the horsepower game; in 2003 Dodge "reintroduces" the Hemi with 345 hp, The 2004 F-150 finally goes from 260 to 300 hp, and now in 2009 the F-150 falls even further behind, whats it up to now I'm not sure I thought it was 315-325ish but I don't know. The Ram is now knocking on 400's door. I know a Ford salesman who said a couple years ago already that "no one makes crap anymore". The Big Three all make good trucks no matter what side you grew up on, it now is litterally a matter of preference and horsepower ratings if they matter to you. I just dont see why anyone would base their final decision on a ONE mile per gallon difference. The quoted MPG ratings are based on EPA estimates anyway and who really trusts "them". If we really want to pick on competitors advertising just look at the Chevy commercials that Howie Long are in! They are absolutely ridiculous! "We can't match Toyota's towing capacity so we'll criticize their fuel economy, Then we'll pick on Dodge's heated steering wheel 'cause we can't touch their horsepower, and just for kicks, if that ain't enough, we'll point and laugh at the F-150s tailgate step 'cause we didn't think of it first. " Makes sense to me, how 'bout you?

I think you will find that MPG are very important to anyone and thats a main reason trucks no longer sell like they did back in 2004. Over the course of 10 years that 1mpg difference adds up. I do agree though that Dodge,Toyota,Chevy Seem to attack everyone and say that there trucks are better when Every year the Ford always wins truck of the year. If they was really so great then wouldn't they be in number 1. The Dodge in my eyes should now be in the same class as the ridge line and Avalanche and if the ram box is the feature they think is going to take the ram to the top then they are severely mistaken.

Do you live in a box? Just wondering because where you come up with "always win truck of the year" and "number 1" comments from.....

Well my box must be pretty big as everyone knows the same facts as i do. The F150 has been the best selling truck in the U.S. for 31 Years Running! Now if that ain't number one in your eyes then perhaps you shouldn't be in a Ford. Also did it or did it not win truck of the year again this year. I'm almost 101% sure it just did.
