Fordfanatic4life is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE. Fordfanatic4life is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
i just read throu that article and i cant for the life of me see how the Chevy won..

with the exception of the engine being more powerful the Ford scored better almost everywhere..including price (which they commented the Chevy had a "price advantage" which it didnt..

i think that article is def. biased, given they tested it at GM's test track..

they even commented how the chevy had a nicer interior yet the Ford scored higher on Interior..WTH ?

p.s. WOW.. that Toyota has some tall gears for a 1/2ton truck...

That's OK, a lot of people can't believe the Ford won in the exact same test over at putco. Last in every performance category including payload. (dodge doesn't count)

However, the GM 6.2L needed premium fuel to achieve those numbers.

ps. The Toyota gearing is nearly the same as the Ford/GM when transmission ratios are factored in...

To some a good thread is only if the other view is not allowed.

Sometimes I wonder why there is even a Ford Vs the comp. section here..

It should be retitled to Ford vs the comp only if you have nice things to say about Ford.

No I think it's fine the way it is. Eventually someone here who doesn't understand the concept might actually get the Ford vs the competition. Just add a disclaimer stating that you must have the maturity of an adult to post in here. There seems to be alot of whinning when someone posts something that isn't "pro-Ford". Much like "they" have the freedom to cry over something you don't like to hear, I have the freedom to express my displeasure with the very product this forum is built around. Deal with it. ( if you can )

Actually, I think it's fine that problems are brought to light in constructive ways which promote opportunities to learn what to look for and how to best handle the situation. However, for someone to trash any product on a site that promotes them is an absolute joke. Truely, people like this need to move on. If it were me, I'd likely not buy another of that product for a long time, but I surely would want to get away from it in order to forget it ASAP.
Ultimately, you need to understand that the majority are happy with our purchases. Even given the complexity of our trucks, many of us have had little or no problems at all. If you don't like Ford, simply move on and get something else. Seems that staying here just creates a longer 'self induced' reminder and agony.

Much like you have the right to voice your opinion, others have the right to voice their displeasure with that same product. I missed in the site guidelines where it states that only positive comments are allowed. There is a very fine, convoluted line drawn between bringing problems to light in a constructive manner and trashing here. < insert "hear no evil, see no evil" addage here >

What about the people who simply can't afford to "move on" and "forget it"?

Hey, your happy, that's great! So where's the love for your Ford "brothers" who aren't as fortunate as you? Should we ignore them? Maybe we should start banning members who start having problems with their trucks and voice frustration.

The ironic part is nowhere in this thread do I state that I'm going to sell my Ford and buy something else. Or that I was regreting buying a Ford.I do state problems that are indeed facts ( do a search here ). It seems some people here, ( and in this thread) really need to take their blue oval glasses off and realize that Ford doesn't build the "truck that god created".

Dude, if you are having such a bad experience with it, you should sell it. Why keep something that bothers you so badly? Unfortunate for you, things haven't worked to your liking, but your rambling on about how bad it is...is really pathetic.
Ultimately, you're not providing a service or helpful knowledge that is beneficial to anyone...just move on and get a life.

I really like hearing others opinions about different brands, but in a mature way. I love Fords, but I also really liked the chevies I had before too. A lot of guys on here want to hear some facts about other brands and have good threads. Knowone said it is Pro Ford. Some guys just dont like bashing. I dont like bashing Chevy either or Dodge for that matter. Some guys act like their fords are the only vehicles out there with problems. Both my friends chevies keep breaking down lately. They arent bashing chevy, they like their trucks and fix them. If they were that unhappy they would sell them.

I agree. Ive always owned fords other then my 68 dodge and my 05 cummins. I bought a 6.0 not to long back, because ford is where my heart is. The truck has givin me a few problems, the worst being poppin the motor at 88,000. The cummins on the other hand has 150,000 and ive only had to replace a clutch and some front end stuff. I guess since ive had a major problem with my ford i automaticly hate it. Why cant a guy voice his problems and opinons with the trucks he owns, isnt that what this site is about.

I agree jimford. I'm hear to learn from others. Bad experiences can be dealt with in constructive ways that doesn't make us feel like we're being told we all bought a piece of junk. Ford isn't the only brand that has issues...ALL of them do. BTW, I'm not brand loyal to Ford. I have owned Buicks, Pontiacs, Hondas, and Chevies. No Dodges in my lineup, but I wouldn't call them less than a Ford either. At this time I believe Dodge has more aesthetically nice looking cars/trucks than any other brand and the Cummins is an exceptional engine. I bought my F-350 because I liked the looks of it and how it drove. I would hope that everyone is buying what they like and enjoying it too. If it happens to be a lemon, don't believe that their ALL lemons.

Best wishes to all.
