Roush next gen TVS available for F150?

The Roushcharger is the hot ticket for the F150 (unless you are looking to make BIG hp...600ish...then its Whipple) but is still a roots type blower. Roush's new TVS (twin vortices) supercharger is a 4 lobe twisted rotor type blower that is the best of both worlds... Good bottom end, no internal compression (lower parasitic loss) and no drop off on the topside which has been allowing it to make some major power numbers (700rwhp) in the Mustangs... this is a great "next step" from Roush, but is it available for the F150? Hopefully someone out there has some insight (or knows someone who does) on whether they will make a F150 kit, or if it will fit the current Roushcharger F150 set up... Happy Holidays by the way!

The most interesting F150 set-up I've seen comes from the same company that engineered the system for my Mercury Marauder... Trilogy Int'l in Detroit, MI.

There's a place called MotorCityMarauders dot com that has a few write-ups on the Trilogy F150. If you search around some you'll find some links. One guy there has a S/C on his Lincoln Mark LT that surprises a few people!

Trilogy has a pretty bullit proof reputation in that Marauder community so some of those guys have been real quick to buy the F150 system.

The Trilogy setup doesn't come close to the new Roush 4 lobe charger... no brand does. If the new Roushcharger were available for the F150 I'd strongly consider pulling out my current Roushcharger and replacing it after beefing up the block.

Ken,
Is there someone at Roush that might could tell us if it will fit in place of the F150 M112 or a potential kit?

Also, will an 09 trans fit the earlier 04-08 150 truck with 5.4l?

Thanks...and thanks for FTE! Andrew

The 04-08 PCM isn't capable of supporting the newer 6 speed tranny unfortunately, at least not now.

A better bet than asking Roush is talking to Mike Troyer at Troyerperformance.com. If anyone knows if it can be retrofitted he does (installs more F150 Roushchargers than anyone I know of).

Just talked to Roush contact and the news is bad... No plans on F150 TVS kit and the TVS will not bolt onto a F150 manifold so no hope of grafting...probably for the best since a TVS would cost an engine build to withstand the extra excitement.....

TVS does not, but I've heard that the whipple/KB upgrade kits for Lightnings will.....but again at that point a new motor would be a good idea.

I personally think the 4th GEN MP112 in the Roush is being harshly criticized, but if you guys really have the urge to jump up to the new TVS style blower, you could always contact http://www.harrop.com.au/index.html and have just the supercharger unit itself sent to you and build up some form of adapter plate and custom inlet to work with the Roush manifold.

Truth be told, the Modern Roots Hybrid blower's are nearly as efficient as their Twin Screw couterparts and actually even more so in the lower ranges since they aren't compressing the air under vaccum. You've also got to consider from a performance perspective.....we're comparing the capabilities of a 112ci blower (the MP112) to a 140ci blower (the typical FRPP/Whipple Twin Screw). Were the two blowers more equally matched displacement wise, I'm betting the Twin Screw advantabe wouldn't be nearly as impressive.

Hell, if you want to stray a little from the stock OEM blower, the Magnuson based MP112 will actually outperform (by a handy margin) similar and even larger displacement Twin Screws.

These modern Hybrid Roots chargers aren’t like the old strait cut lobe design Roots units we all remember sticking out of the hood of our favorite muscle build ups during the 70’s and 80’s, or even the hybrid 1st through 3rd GEN 3-lobe 60-degree profile Eaton’s uses in cars like the Supercoupe Thunderbird.
