i gotta ask, excuse my ignorance, what does the chirp have to do with the belt?? is it RPM related??

the belt slip on the crank at hard high rpm shifting

mine also does it too ..the belt is good shape just makes a little noise at hard shifts

My V10 does the same thing. I changed the belt back in the spring and it's already doing it again. The dolt at Ford actually told me to use belt dressing!!!

never updated this...kinda forgot about it


I figured out my problem was due to the weather. Back in December when I posted this, we had a bunch of Tropical Storms and Monsoon style rain. As soon as the rain passed, the chirping pretty much quit

and I looked over the belt, and it still looks okay. So I have changed it out yet. Gonna wait until it gets worse.

In December of this year my I will have had my 00 for 10 years and currently have 175,000 miles on the original belt and I can't find anything wrong with it at all. I have no plans on changing it until it goes. I do have a spare under the seat just in case.

The Edge Evo causes some wicked chirpage when shifting from 1-2 if you really punch it. I personally don't have an issue with it.
