I just bought a 1967 Econoline Supervan. Just to make sure the reservoir under the driver's seat is for washer fluid? the vin is E16AHB57164. other info 090 M E160 289 C 07 038000 129 4000 51. Any help would be appreciated. I also have a 1965 F-250 I recently bought to carry my motorcycles and haul my 1968 Airstream Tradewind. It has the 352 V-8.

The w/shield washer fluid reservoir is round, mounts into a bracket that uses two screws to mount it.

But...the parts catalog doesn't show its location.

Bill, thanks a lot for your help. I figured that's what that reservoir was for, but wanted to double check. There is nothing about it in my chilton's book. The van is definately rough, but drives fine. I need to reattach the hoses for the wiper fluid, put new mirrors on, get the signals and brake lights working, and get the weatherstriping for the windows I pulled in a junkyard. Quick question for you though, to start it the first time, I need to spray starting fluid into the carb because I can't get fuel into the carb to start, but once it starts, gas is no problem. I put a new fuel filter on, hoping for a cheap fix, but it still won't start up. Do you think it's a fuel pump, or something else? I filled up when I bought it and drove the 40 miles home and almost went through a half tank. Would this indicate a leak and tie into the other problem? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Derek

Check the fuel pump, as original there was a fuel filter there, and this was its only location.

This filter rarely gets changed, because peeps don't know it's there, so they install an in-line fuel filter instead.

The pump's filter is inside a tomato juice sized can that screws on.
