New Rules - signature help

Trying to comply with the new rules but have issues. I'm getting the message The following errors occurred when this message was submitted: <!--POSTERROR do not remove this comment--> Your signature can not be longer than 700 characters including BBCode markup. All I'm trying to do is un-animate my GIF. I don't really understand what BBCode markup is. Anyone know how to fix this? Just trying to paste into my sig.

BBCode markup is the code used for colors, size, font, etc... - the stuff in the [ ] brackets.

I can't help you on un-animating the gif.

Thanks Steve. A fellow member un-animated the GIF for me, what I don't understand is why can't I delete the animated GIF, which is acceptable in my current sig with no BBCode faults, and replace it with the un-animated one.

I'm not trying to change anything else. I'm starting to get the feeling my computer doesn't like me.

The animated one that is in there now should be within some brackets that say "right" - "/right". If you delete what's in there it will go away.
I think you will have to upload the new one through the signature picture section in "edit signature". You can then bracket it where the old one used to be.

I hope that makes sense.

Are animated (.gif) sigs only for SUPPORTERS?

I keep getting the message suggesting animations in signature aren't allowed.
