New truck new questions

My new truck aka Great White.
I really like the truck so far. It is much quiter on the inside and the ride is much better than my 96 Model. Engine seems to sound a little different to. My 96 had a cat but this truck doesn't and it looks like it came this way. Why is that? Also it seems to take the same amount of time for this truck to start where it is 25 degrees or if I just turned it off and restarted it. Is this normal? How often should I change the tranny fluid? I had them change it before I bought the truck. I'm trying to get use to a truck with this much torque and a auto. It seems to change gears alot on winding country roads. Thanks from a new body style newbe.

Congrats on Great White. No cats on 7.3's with autos in '02 (with the exception of CA models and handshakers but I could be very wrong on this. Been a lot of threads over the years on this and now I'm confused on the official word.) One less thing to cut out when you upgrade the exhaust. Start times vary from truck to truck but just stay on top of the battery condition and keep your connections squeaky clean. Tranny fluids usually like to be changed every 30,000 miles unless you cook it.

Nice looking ride. Now let the mods begin.

Do the usual:

1. Oil & filter change (recommend Schaeffer's 9000 or Shell Rotella, both synthetic 5W40; and stick with the FL-1995 Motorcraft oil filter)
2. New (upgraded) air filter (Fleetfilter.com & order the 46637)
3. Fuel filter change

Also, if you update your profile and put in your location, we'll know if someone is close to you that can help with mods/updates and help spread the knowledge we all pick up here.

And congrats on Great White! I LOVE Duallies!!

Change all your fluids that would be a great idea at first. That is one sharp truck to be just plain white. Time for the heavy PMS to start .

Nice looking rig. I really like the all white(mine is all white too.) I'm sure that you will love the truck. The only downfall is when the PMS begins...lotsa money.

Yep it's a 8ft bed. Think i'm going to put a 6637 air filter and leave the rest stock. It has plenty of power as it is

You say that you will only put the 6637 filter, but that will lead to more and more...lol

Another question, every time I turn the radio, it takes the clock off and I have to hit the clock button again for it to come back on. Can it be set to automatically show the clock again?
