HD lights vs. Hella vs. FX4/2

I have a black 2006 Ext Cab 4x4 F150 XLT. I am thinking about blacking it out. I really like the monochrome look if it is done right. I hate the bright silver headlights. I can get the Hella black headlights for $219. The HD are alot more and hard to find (Ebay, auto recyclers, ect). I'm not sure about the FX4/2. Which ones have a gloss black housing? Aren't the FX4 ones grey? I don't want them to stand out because they are a different shade than the body.

I like the write-ups on painting your headlights. I'm too nervous about opening them up. I have a habit of "improving" a part by breaking it or making it unusable.

What do you guys think? I'm also getting a black mesh upper and lower grill (GrillCraft FOR-1306B) and black N-Fab step bars (http://www.offroadunlimited.com/orus...tep_Blacks.jpg). The headlights stick out like a sore thumb.

I rather liked the looks of the Hella and for $220/pair it's hard to go wrong with them.

Yeah, I like them alot too. I was just wondering what would blend in better with a black truck. Does anybody here have the Hella lights? I would hope that they are built better than some of the cheap ones on Ebay. I made that mistake with my Cobra. Those lights were junk LOL.

You should get the Hella....... The headlights, tail lights and grill with lights were made for Ford by Hella, but Hella lost the bid.

Anzo USA makes black headlights for your 150; I put a set on my Explorer and they are very well made.
