That is news to me. I have never heard that one before, in fact it is always the opposite. I would think something else is going on. I would never think that synthetic would cause a rough idle situation.

No problems with mine, and I did this about a week or two ago when she wouldn't crank one day in the teens. Since then, I haven't plugged her in once and she spins up & fires so much faster.

Didnt drain HPOP, shouldnt have air in the system if thats what you were thinkin. I pulled codes and the only thing that popped is AIH it always pops. Cant do a rotational velocity test or buzz test, no AE The twitch is just like the grey cps twitch, i switched back to black a few months ago. Im stumped

The only thing that may be related is i think my batteries are on there way out, when the glow plugs come on and have a couple times here this winter in Florida, the battery light comes on until they go off, it cranks fine but the light comes on when the glow plugs are on? Any thoughts on the batteries?

I was at least. Most members are using synth. Rotella or Schaffer's. Rotella is pretty easy to find around my neck of the woods.

OK, just wanted to make sure about the grade of oil. Your situation is definitely different than the norm. Most that switch to 5W-40 get better cold startups and smoother idle.

Is it the CJ-4 spec oil or the CI-4 plus spec oil. It should say on the side of the bottle or next to the starburst symbol.

Did you fill the filter before you installed it? Never had or heard of problems from syn. I run it for a couple of years and I believe it starts and idles smoother than ever.
