Whats up with ford...

Ok so i was driving by the local car dealership and happened to see the new f-150's sitting out side so i stopped to look at them, Anyone else think they are ugly, the bed on the one i saw looked like a box, it just didn't seem to match the truck, and then from pictures i saw on the new bronco the thing looks ugly to me, not the way the old broncos use to look. The only truck from ford i saw i liked was the sport trac adrenaline model with the 5.4 supercharged.

All the cars and trucks nowadays are getting ugly. I wish Ford would've stayed with the '78-'79 body style. That was the best looking they had I thought.

Even though I like the 04-08 F150 style better, I still think the '09 F150s are better looking than any other 1/2 ton on the road. Then again, looks are subjective. Took a look see the last two times I was at my local dealer. Many improvements on the 09 that I wish my 06 had.

The Bronco concept, which sounds like it will never be produced, actually looks like the 1st Gen Broncos from the 60s. Has a very retro style to it.

And the Sport Trac, think they cancelled the plans for the Adrenaline which actually had the 4.6L S/C, not 5.4L.

personaly i think the new F150 looks fantastic.. sort of like a baby-super duty..

and the current 08+ SD looks great to.. hell if i could afford a new truck i'd be rolling one for sure...

i will agree thou the Adrenaline looks awesome...just a shame its not actualy as radical under the hood as u would expect...

2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin Preview | J.D. Power

if you look it up its a concept is what i meant to say, it has the 5.4 supercharged engine in it. but it says they well not offer the high out put v8 which is what i meant i wish they would come out with the 5.4 s/c cause i would buy it.

"The Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin concept vehicle was originally shown at the 2005 New York Auto Show. That vehicle featured a lowered look, a supercharged 390-hp 5.4-liter V-8 engine and 21-inch wheels, giving it a performance personality. The production version will have a lowered appearance and 20-inch wheels, but will not offer a high-horsepower V-8 engine."

ah bass i was wondering when you would find this post, ya i wish they would go back to the 70's model style to they were just better to me not this fiberglass stuff now, which i guess in the long run is good because it takes alot of weight off the truck.

Wonder who's right/wrong. These links all state it has an S/C 4.6L.

Using a 4.6-liter, 32-valve V-8 with a Roots-type supercharger and intercooler, the Adrenalin is rated at 390 horsepower at 5400 rpm, and 390 pound-feet of torque at 4200 rpm.

Of course, that concept had a supercharged version of the 4.6-liter V-8 the production model has.

The ST article in the Magazine I have says a S/C 4.6l.

I don't really care for the look of the 04'-09' 150s and I definatly hate the seats. I think the 09' Dodge Ram 1500 is a nicer looking truck than the 150. The 08'up SDs don't really strike my fancy either, the 99'-07' SDs look worlds better IMO.

Yes i know it is not coming with the 5.4 i said i wish it would come with the 5.4 like they had in the concept because then i would buy it, they are not offering the higher output v8 in it, it is only coming with the 4.0 and the 4.6, which to me sucks because i've always liked the 5.4 never really liked the 4.6

We all know it's not coming with the 5.4L nor a high output (s/c) version. The point I'm making is that from every article I've read, except this JDPower you posted, has always had the concept with an S/C 4.6L. Only the JDP article has it listed with the 5.4L, which I personally think was a typo on their end.

But not need arguing over something so trivial. Will simply agree to disagree!

Thanks, love the truck so far, trying to keep from checking out too many '09 models.

My 06 F150 Screw XLT 4x4 3.73LS 5.5ft bed gets roughly 13-15mpgs city (depends on how I drive each week) and 16-19 mpgs hwy (depends on which direction I head out of Denver) running on 87 octane. If I run E85, I bring home 10-13mpgs city and 14-16mpgs hwy. The truck is stock everything, other than the radio and K&N drop in filter.

Love the truck, haven't had any other issues than a speaker and master door switch swapped out under warranty. Truck is 2yrs old with just under 19K miles.

Sounds like things I've had on my to do list since I got the truck, just always something with the wife, kids, house or dogs that take my mod money.

Start up a gallery sometime so we can check out your ride. I've always liked the Sport Tracs, both 1st & 2nd Gen models. Before I purchased my '02 F150, I looked into the STs. Got a better deal on the F150 so I went that route. Then in '06, I knew I couldn't drop down to an ST's size, so I went with the F150 Screw. Bet the wife and kids are happy, would be a much tighter fit in an ST.

Reminds me, I need to get some new pics posted. Truck is identical to what you see, just haven't taken any recently and updated my album.

I agree, the 09's are ugly. 08's look much nicer.
