Question what cylinder heads best?

I have a 292 engine slated for rebuilding, block # C2AE. What would be the best heads to get to increase performance? What year is this block? What heads would this engine likely have, as it was never rebuilt..I know original owner.

Your block is 62-64. CITE heads were original to the block. For balls to the wall performance, ECZ-G or 113 heads, 69 cc and 72 cc combustion chamber volumes.

PC Menton quite a while ago pushed the benefits of the ECZ-C heads, and I have become a believer. I think they offer good performance, adequate compression, fuel economy and are well suited to trucks and those of us who dont "hot rod around" much. Their combustion chamber is 72 or 73 cc, compared to your 76. Their intake is 1.78 in. compared to the CITEs of 1.64.

The best flowing heads are 113, ECZ-G, and ECZ-C, though the differences between 113 and G could be argued.
