Exhaust sound and performance assist please for a "rookie"?
Hello all and thanks for taking time to read and respond to my desparately "rookie" questions/comments.
I don't know much at all about engines, exhausts, etc so please bear with me. I have an '04 F250 gasoline w/ 5.4L and SI/DO 2 and 1/2 -inch pipes w/ no muffler- and a "huge" cat. It sounds fairly well and runs good, but I want possibly better sound and definite better acceleration (just simply seems slow at take-off: is that the norm or can I improve this??).
I was told I need to have some sort of muffler betwixt the cat and 2 and 1/2-inch pipes to have performance on my take-offs, etc but that if I went with a certain "power stick" in there then I wouldn't lose much in sound and it might sound even better than my current set-up.
With that said, I was directed to www.classicchambered.com and told to order the shortest "chambered power stick" to place in my set-up between the cat and the 2 and 1/2-inch pipes exiting straight out the rear bumper. Would this still give a pretty loud sound as my current set-up AND give me better acceleration vs. what I have now??
Any comments, suggestions, advice, etc will be GREATLY appreceiated! I figured I'd simply ask those "in the know" via this forum at the risk of sounding like a dumba** given my lack of knowledge. Thanks- and I'll be looking fwd to any and all! I'm also going to post the same under at least one more forum to increase the chances of answers from those willing to lead a newbie by the hand.

I have heard of chambered style mufflers, but I have not seen them used on trucks similar to yours or mine, only on 1950/1960/1970's era muscle cars and street rods. Seems like it would sound pretty open to me. Personally I like the tuned sound of the Magnaflow. Try looking on Youtube for a video of a truck that uses them, to get an idea of the sound.
