Super6 4.2L Stage 3 power pack
Hey guys I'm a noob to these forums, but I have learned a lot from you guys. I was wondering has anyone tried the Super6 stage 3 power pack for the 4.2 V6? The kits seems nice and adds a lot of usefull power to the trusty V6. For the price and what you get, plus an extra 90 horses....
And also at TMA tubor (STREET KIT), has anybody tried this turbo kit he has fabed up for the 3.8 mustang. I looks like it will fit and the 4.2 again is just the big brother to the 3.8.
Let me know what you guys think about these two items.

Thanks for the reply!
Thanks BrianA, I just saw that site for the turbo kit for the 3.8V6 Mustang, and the price is way better then other kits I have seen so far. I did a search before I did the thread, and did not find anything on either topic. I have been looking for the best way to add some extra power to my 2000 XLT Ext Cab 4.2 (5 speed), and the Super 6 seems like the best route so for, I mean for an extra 90HP the price isn't to bad.

Hey Terry,
Kinda curious about this Super 6 you're talking about. Where can I find some more info on it? My motor has plenty of grunt to get moving. But, I would like a little more in the top end. I have to haul a 325 gal water tank and would like to have a little more juice when I need it.
Is this one of those plug and play deals like the diesels have? Boy would I like to shove that up my son's nose. Especially since I have to beat him to keep him out of my truck right now.
Take care and long live the 4.2.

They have some cool stuff for us the 4.2L V6 guys. The Stage 3 kit is for manual trucks and stage 2 is for autos. It comes with all the parts you'll need in the kit. Its no plug and play. At there site its under power packs on the left side. Here's what they say about the kit,

We pioneered the PowerPak concept in the V6 community through extensive dyno testing. PowerPaks are our specialty; they are
more than just heads, intakes, and a cam --they are part of a comprehensive engine system where each component has been
designed and tested to work together. These parts are also available separately so you can build your own PowerPak as budget
allows. PowerPaks are offered in stages, see recommendations in the chart below. Superchargers and turbos are very popular
additions, but there’s no denying that they often cause harmful engine stress and catastrophic failure of the stock hypereutectic
pistons and stock powder metal rods. If your car is your daily driver, our PowerPaks may be just the solution you are looking for…
Extra power and no harmful engine stress!

I think for the money and the power you get in return is worth it.
They also have an M-112 Adapter Intake Manifold. Adding an M-112 blower from the 03-04 Cobra can add 100 RWHP/RWTQ to your 99-04 3.8 Mustang or 96-up 4.2 F-150. Our adapter manifold makes this very simple. Heres all you need to source from an 03-04 Cobra: M-112; inlet plenum; throttle body, cable, and bracket; air induction, meter, filter, and #39 injectors. Add a bigger fuel pump and water/meth kit and a few small parts and have it tuned. Detailed installation instructions provided with each adapter. $900

Hey thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about a gear swap. I don'[t think I could slide that by the "financial adviser". I am going to look a little more into that power kit. They had some long stroke blocks that looked kinda interesting there too. Have to lwaith and see what I can talk she who rules my world in to. Thanks alot.

Terry,
Nice to have you here!
I don't recall ever seeing those mentioned. Maybe somebody has posted about them and I just missed it.
The turbo add-on seems pretty pricey - I do not remember anyone here going that route.
Either way, glad to have you join us. Hope you stick around.
