Hood problem

Not sure if this is where it goes, if it doesn't can a mod please move it for me.

My hood will not open, The release is slacked like it should feel, but the hood has not popped. I have tried pushing and pulling on the hood thinking that maybe the catch just got stuck, but nothing is happening. I tried pulling on the release cable but it does nothing so I don't think that it is snapped. How can I open the hood without the release? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

The latch may just need lubed. Once in a while I like to hit it with some WD-40. Spray between where the grill and hood meet. Is this a later model truck?

This may sound amateur like but I like to take my fist with a clean towel and lightly hit the hood across, that should release the latch and pop the hood. Then look for a broken cable.

If the cable is ok, it's probably the spring. Newer vehicles integrate the spring into the latch which cause this to happen when the lube seizes up. You need to encourage the hood to pop up, sometimes poping it with your fist works, other times you need the slightest pressure from a pry bar to open it.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?
