Any of you think it's worth it to "undercoat" a used truck? mine is 2 years old and plan on keeping for 10+ years. There is no undercoating on it right now.
No. It will do more harm than good. You will trap the corrosion causing stuff already on the truck under the undercoating.
I just took the door panel off my 1990 F-250 which I bougt new 19 years ago. To my supprise there was NO rust. The rustproofer was a small business guy that used a black goo that he got from the US Go.v that was used on military aircraft. The company was called US Rust control in Miami. I hope they are still in business because after seeing the results, I want to take my 1996 F-350 back to them even though they are 350 miles away. The only problem is that the goo ran out of the door bottom for years
mine is undercoated with a nice petina of red clay mud, actually it has mud from 3 states under it, SC,NC and TN mud
When I was stationed in NY I had a 89 buick as my winter car. It had ziebart on it from when it was new. I bought the car from an old lady who was the original owner and the car only had 75,000 miles on it. When I got it on a lift the bodymount through the frame and crossmember was completely gone I got it welded together and got rid of it before it killed me. I will never have that done.
