The wife's '07 Escape-FWD, 2.3, Auto., ABS lite went on yesterday, while out X-mas shopping, stayed on for awhile, shut car off and went shoping, came out, no light. What gives??? I know sometimes, rear brakes get out of adjustment, and is that a sign, or is it something more involved. We've had lousy wet, snowy weather, and could it be one of the sensor connections got wet?? Still under warranty(extended), or should I wait and see. Is there a way to pull codes from the ABS computer?? PITA-PITA......

If it was wet and snowy and the ABS light came on but is off now, I wouldn't worry about it unless and until it comes back on. If the light is off it should indicate that there are no faults present in the ABS system.
I have an 05 Escape and never had the ABS come on but I have on my issued 04 Crown Vic. All it turned out to be was ice, snow and slush on the sensor which prevented it from doing its job. A few hours in a heated garage cured the problem.
