pie man is starting off with a positive reputation.
85 ford 6.9 4x4 4spd oil consumption

i have a 85 f250 4x4 4spd with roughly 100.000 miles when driving around town i does not seem too use oil but when on the highway runing 60 mph and just under 2500 rpms it uses oil, from louisville kentucky to youngstown ohio i use about a gallon of oil is this normal or do i have a problem and if so is there a quick fix ??????? thank you for any help

Pieman it is not normal your cdr valve might need servicing. Come over to the idi prepowerstroke site there is a lot of good info and folks on it.

ya listen to star 2500 rpm thats hight for a 6.9 u realy should not run it that high

I second everything he says. The CDR is just behind the air intake stack on the intake manifold.
