I tried to install a kit today and it seems that there is no power going to the ballasts. I noticed that the ballast has 2 male prongs and the bulb harness has 3 female. I pluged the female (3 prong) into the ballast and no power to the lights. I then attached a harness that came with the kit.
A 2 prong female plug that goes into the ballast and the end was a red and black wire. I can plug these into 2 of the 3 open compartments. Anyone have pics of their set up? If so, could you post some pics of the wires and where they plug into. I want to make sure I got the right kit for my truck.
I got my foglight kits coming in as well and I hopefully don't want this problem coming up..
with a help of a friend that knows his electrical stuff...finally got the HID 6K's in. Looks real good. Plus my truck is white, so it matches perfect. Just waiting on my foglights to come in.
I got um for $58 shipped. A friend in my mustang club showed me a ebay seller selling super....super cheap kits for the mustang. We was hesitant....but a year later, still going strong. I bought the kit for the F150 for $68 shipped and foglights for the same. Forget about those guys selling for over $100, these one's are just as good. Mine are Xenon HID kits and factory warranty is included as well....
I going install the fogs tomorrow and snap one pick tomorrow night...
they get for all makes and models. On the ebay page, you just select your type of bulb and the desired "K" rating. I run 6K's (diamond White) all around, so she looks really clean. Anything 6K and above, you going get that blue/purple tint to the light and then you going probably get pulled over. But the 6K's are just pure white and look like the stocks off a Lexus.
I found out that 3K's are yellow, so I was thinking running those in my fogs....but we'll see. Right now I put the truck back into the garage and driving my daily driver..the mustang, so I never put in the fogs. Next week I go do um though.
