1960 taillight question

Maybe someone can answer this. What do I have here? These came off of my truck. (A) has TRST-57R stamped on the back. (B) has TR-57 stamped on the back. I also have 1 melted taillight lens. I'm assuming that I need another (A), but I'm wondering if the (B) is for a front turn signal on a 57-58. On the first pic there is a bulb in each light. Also, was there an original lens made out of glass maybe that used (B)? Thanks for any help!

tail lamps

I'm not 100% on this and I've got a 58 styleside. And I have two of the "A" style "buckets?" right here in front of me, if that's what one would call them. And one is stamped TRST-57B with the little script Ford logo, and the other looks almost exactly the same, but has the 5 total holes arranged slightly differently and it has no stamping whatsoever. These are some extras and I've got four mounted on my 58 and as look underneath in the front--rear's not so easily accessed, I see that they are also of the "A" style. I've never looked so closely at these buckets until now. And I wasn't aware there were any differences-- I thought they were all "A" style, but that doesn't mean they are--it just means until you asked I never noticed any difference. I guess if you can get them to fasten--the B style that is--I guess it wouldn't make any difference. The second part of your question regarding "different glass" lenses etc. I don't know anything about that. I've got the round plastic lens-red in the rear and somewhat clear in the front. The lenses are available from the aftermarket. I don't see off hand that the buckets are available--they may be I just don't see'm.
Good luck tom

I`m not totally sure about this but I think that the 60 Econolines might be similar and just might work.
Hopefully someone can confirm or state other wise this if it`s not right.

B is not a parking/turn signal lamp body.

The parking lamp bodies have a different outer bezel which has a "chrome like" finish, the lens fits inside it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1957/60 F100/350 Styleside: These taillamp bodies are right/left specific:

B7C13434A .. Right Taillamp Body / B7C13435A .. Left Taillamp Body

TRST-57R: R = Right. The other body is prolly a left.

Why are they different? I dunno.
--------------------------------
1961/64 Econolines & 1961/66 Styleside pickups (that used the 57/60 bed) used a similar lamp body, but it is not the same.

C2TZ13434A .. Taillamp Body-Right and left are the same.
--------------------------------------------------------
None of the taillamp lenses were glass as original.

What someone may have done is used a glass lens from a 1928/36 Ford car, or the glass lens is a gypo (aftermarket) replacement.

What are the DOT markings (if any) on the glass lens, and on the plastic lenses?

Thanks all for checkin it out. But let me clarify it a little. I have plastic lenses and the one on (B) melted because the bulb was touching the lens. I bought a new set of plastic ones but don't really want to melt this one too. I thought maybe there was a glass lens that I could get away with, but it looks like I might be heading to the junkyard soon. Looks like I'm better off finding another (A). Still doesn't explain where (B) came from. Pretty strange I think.

You can usually slide the light socket deeper into the assembly, most are just pressed in. Might have to drill out a spot weld first.

If B isn't the left side, then it's C2TZ13434A, the body used on 1961/64 Econolines & 1961/66 Stylesides w/the 57/60 bed.

I went by the pics in the parts catalog, the C2TZ and B7C bodies look identical.

B would look great with a Pontiac lens crome outter and a cadillac bullit lens center. people could see it better from the side.

If the owner of that Econoline pickup ever needs replacement taillamp lenses, he'll never find them on any 1950's car, because.....

They're from a 1961, as Dinah Shore used ta croon: "See the U S A...in your Chev-rolet."
