DP Tuner 60 econo ???

Does anyone have any imput on the 60 econo compared to the 80 econo. My thoughts would be that it may et a little better mpg than the 80. Any one have any pros or cons??

Thanks

Welcome to FTE. Not sure what you are asking. If I was getting a new DP-TUNER, I would get the F-6. If you only want to tune the PCM, then I would get the 80e. When you start tuning your truck, MPG don't make much difference.

The 60 E is a new tune Jody is developing/ has developed I think. I know I have it on the f350.... can't tell much difference from the 80e, so I run the 80e except when towing. My bet is under certain conditions ( heavier loads on the truck itself or medium towing) that the 60e defues just enough more than the 80 that egt's stay in range. However, when towing I like the shift points of the tow tunes better. This is really a Jody/ Dianne question. They are really excellent to get you what you need. I know Jody actually asked me " you really gonna tow 22,500 lbs???" when I told him about the dual tandem gooseneck.

honestly the truck has been either pulling heavy or doing stop and go... have not had opportunity to test it fully. I don't notice any real difference in power....maybe a bit of boost but thats about it.

Thanks for the imput, I would have emailed jody but it was a weekend and was planning on getting the chip this weekend so. I noticed the new 60 econo, and thought this may be a little more economically friendler than the 80 econo. My chip will go something like: 1200 high idel / 20 tow /60 tow / 60 or 80 econo / 100 or 120 race / That should do it. Maybe 140 aggesive if I feel the need to smoke..

The 20 tow is what I run with the gooseneck attached... I like it... good shift pouints, feels like a lot more than 20hp over stock. Talk to Jody, he'll hook you up with what you really want.

I would say you could run the 80T while pulling the goosnexk aslong as you watched the guages. It would make pulling out alot better.

The new 60 econo was designed for if you are driving for long drives/commutes on the highway.

I use my 80E in town and the 60E on the hwy or when I don't need to be abruptly merging in heavy traffic. The 80 econo I call my decisive in town/heavy traffic driver tune(the pedal is quicker to respond when I need it too) and the 60 econo is my laid back, kick off my shoes for a long drive tune.

I will be calculating mileage with the 60E on the tank I have now.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Yeah right, your decisive giddy up tune. With all at your disposal, I find this .......amusing as your decisive merge tune. I am sure you mean heavy traffic tune. Merging/accelerating would definitely mean something else to me. Such as a stomping tune which resides higher than the 80e. At least it does for me.

Happy Holidays.

Thanks for the clarification Diane. I was keeping it in my 60T, but with the price of #2 dropping like a rock, I plan on going back to 80e. Definitely a difference! However, either my injectors are fouled (again) or my exhaust leak is getting worse because my 80e is looking kinda like 120 LOL.

My mileage only drops a couple of tenths between running on 80e and 120r. never really saw an increase in the 60T over the 80e. I guess each truck responds differently. With my short trips on a daily basis, I don't think I'd benefit much from a 60e tune.

Mueckster:

I've had much the same experience as you. Unless I'm towing, I just stay in 80E.

Although it would be nice to have yet another tune, I can't see an advantage to adding 60e at this time.

Respects,

Richard

I am waiting on the cruise/auto pilot tune for driving in heavy traffic. I don't like driving in heavy traffic. This feeling of driving like Luke Duke comes over me that only hurts my fuel consumption testing and I have to start all over again the next tank. Grrrr....

Merry Christmas, Mike!

My 140 tune is my heavy traffic merging tune lol, its nice pulling out from McDonalds and leaving a cloud of smoke :-p. Mine stays in 80E 90% of the time as well.
