First, make sure your truck is fast, and can pull hard, by putting a small chip and the basic exhaust and intake on it.

then everytime someone pulls that found on road dead s#^! just smile, say, you mean first on race day, and drive off.

and if they really bug ya, when they call you up asking for a tow, just say should've got a ford

I know a lot of ma and pa baby boys like that. I can't help but smile when I pull up next to their brand spanking new plastic toys and I turn to Ole' Betsy. She reads over 212,000 on the odo. Hard not to be proud.

I started this post and am brand loyal. I love everything from 61 skyliners to 71 torinos. The reason I wanted to know how everyone else thought is because of my neighbor. He is a really good friend but ribs on my RUST free 89 bronco. He went from his 2004 chevy (broken trans and driveshaft) to a 2008 2500 dodge hemi. I love his truck but why bash mine. He's not even brand loyal. He test drove the f-150. He liked it but the power wasnt there for him. Which I agree with too.

Ok Ranger, I'm giving you a homework assignment. I want you to get the HP/TQ #'s for Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota then tell me where the power is.

God, I've been wanting to vent about this for awhile now.

I have a cousin, a DUMB ****ing cousin, who is ALL about GM. And nothing old from GM, only the new stuff. Everytime I see him, he wants to talk about what GM has came out with, etc. He's always like "Ford has a 3.0 V6 making 200 horsepower, and GM has a 4 cylinder that makes 190 horsepower". Oh god, that gets so old. And then he always follows up with "How do they do that?", like they are some kind of GOD. He doesn't understand that it doesn't matter what your 4 banger puts out, it is in a truck, and will never be a good towing or working engine. I've actually got pissed off from holding it in before that I went off and he got freaked out and left. Too bad ****rolet got that damned bailout money. Yes, we are paying for their mistakes. THANKS A LOT, G.W. Bush, thanks a lot...

Freakshow, that man is an idiot. The 4.0 is the 200 HP V6 anyway.

I gave a coworker a ride to his car the other day. He jumped in and said "Ah. All this time we thought you had a manual."

I said, "Nah. The Fail-O-Matic.".

"It's a Ford!" He smarted off.

I told him mine had over 200K miles, nothing rebuilt (the tranny probably was at some point). He said his little kia (pos) has 100K originial miles. He went on to say my 200K miles didn't matter since I was the 3rd owner. WTF? Doesn't this just make my truck look even better?

Imbicile. My truck is family, and to say anything about it is pushing the envelope closer to physical violence.

Thats probably the most immature statement I've read in these pages thus far. Saying someone isn't a real man because they don't drive a damn V-6 F-150 is absurd. The truck doesn't make the man, the man makes the truck. Some of the greatest men I know don't drive Fords, they drive what they can pay for and yes sometimes that happens to be an F-150 or 250. It could be the '88 GMC that they managed to pick up for $500 and stick a $700 snow plow on it or the rusted out Dodge Ram 150 with the 318. Or the first truck I remember my dad owning. He didn't by it 'cause it was a Ford or that it was a '78 with a straight six or because it was in good shape(it wasn't). He bought it because it cost $100 and he had a house to build for his family. I'm sorry if your comment was said with sarcasm but it got me steamed! This thread started about how old it got to hear from friends and coworkers that Fords are junk and how he wished that people would just leave well enough alone. Some of us are Ford enthusiasts who happen to drive GMC's and Dodges because they appealed to us too. Are you saying that I'm not a man because my Dakota was the best option for my budget, cause the other option was a Ranger and I'd put my 4.7 against one of those anyday. BTW my first truck was a '93 Ranger 4.0 so Im not berating anyone for choosing one, I just wanted something bigger that I could still afford.
