2008 Escape block heater install

I have a 2008 Escape 4x4 with the 2.3 four that I purchased used this summer. It doesn't have a block heater, and it's starting to get cold now
(-30 F this morning), and I would like to put one on it. I'm wondering if anybody here knows where on the engine the block heater is installed. I glanced at it this morning, and couldn't see a core plug, so I'm thinking that it might be kind of a bugger to install. If it's real bad I'll probably put a lower hose heater on it. Thanks in advance for any help!

You should call your local Ford parts dept. Have them see if this was an option offered through Ford. If so I would think they should have a picture of the parts and roughly where they go.

I have a 2002, 3.0L.....the block heater/frost plug is on the front of the engine next to the oil filter. The oil filter needs to be removed because of the angle that it goes in at. I have changed mine once and given the lack of room to move it was time consuming to install. Also, my block was threaded so I'm not sure if you could use the butterfly style?
