All of a sudden, it's the middle of December and I'm waaaaaaaayy behind schedule!
Folks, I was reminded over the weekend that maybe sometimes we can get lost in the hustle and bustle of the season. I had one of my local folks come and ask me if I could/would make some buttons that say "Happy Birthday Jesus".................................
Of course I did. He was taking his Sunday School class on a hay ride and his classes project was to remind folks that Jesus is the reason for the season and Roy wanted to acknowledge the work they had done. As I sat there on Saturday making those buttons I realized that maybe I had forgotten to slow down and wish all of my friends a Merry Christmas.
I want to take the moment to stop and wish you and your families the warmest of Christmas Cheer. I'm pretty lucky, my two sons are due in before Christmas day, so along with my daughter who lives local, I'll have my whole family in for this wonderful time of the year. I'm hoping that you too get to enjoy the Christmas season with your loved ones.
I have much to be thankful for...any youse lovable guys and gals are part of it.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

I am a leader of 2 local Girl Scout Troops and to try to get them in to the spirit of giving, we have them making blankets (the ones that you tie the frayed edges) for the local pediatrics ward at the hospital, there will be 10 altogether. The older girls are making their blankets for 5 of the local eldercare residents that do not have family. They are going to personally take them in and visit with them. I am very proud of my girls!!
If you are wondering why I am a Girl Scout leader here is the short version. At 17 I became an Eagle Scout and for 25 years was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. When my eldest girl became old enough I had to make the switch and have been a Girl Scout leader for 5 years now. My youngest girl just started so I will be a leader for quite a few more years.
The most important gift is your time.
