If that's what you had in mind I suggest you not do it, at least not as a permanent installation. That was a glycerine filled gauge and it lasted less than 1 round trip to work and back home (46 miles) There are just to many pulses and pressure spikes from the mechanical fuel pump and the gauge self destructed. For a temp gauge to check pressure an extension hose for a grease gun works well to absorb the pulses. For a perm installation you could add some type of restrictive orifice in the fittings or line to cut down on the pulses. A small ball valve in line that's just barely open will do the same thing.

Surely do appreciate you telling me that BlueMule, no need to do something like that if it's not going to hold up. I'll have the hood hinges worn out checking to see if the guage is working or not, so I'm not going to mount it permanently to the regulator. Thanks again!!!

Thanx for setting me straight but I will go home tonight to verify. I was just working off memory and sometimes memory doesn't fully boot up every morning.

An in line snubber will save the gauge from self destructing.

Pressure Snubbers, models PS-2, PS-4 and PS-8=

If you are running a FP gauge into the truck you should consider electrical. That way there is no chance of having 70-80 psi, hot diesel spewing all over the inside of the cab. The electric gauge might smooth out the pulses too.

A bit pricey though:
