So Red Ford Truck are you trying to say that you are not suposted to base your own oponion on your own experences? Are you saying that hearing what someone else has to say should be what you base your belifes off? Correct me if i am wrong but isnt that kind of dumb? The only things a person can know for certain are the things that have happen to them. Just because you read somthing in the paper or watch somthing on the news dose not make it fact.

IMO the only thing a person can really base there beliefes on is there own experences. My friends all drive chevys and dogs so if i didnt base my belifes off my own experences and just listened to what other people were telling me I wouldnt be driving a ford.

And base my opinion on my experience ie... you have taken my quote out of context to try and make a point.

All I am trying to say is no man or woman is an Island and you can know it hurts to be hit over the head with a baseball bat with out actually having to experience it by reading or hearing about it.

If you however feel that you need to experience it personally in order to trust that it is true by all means be my guest LOL.

It is odd thou that you would base all your opinions on your own experiences, I was just wondering when you last rocketed off to the moon what was it like to orbit the earth?

My opinion on that topic is based on Neil's experience because I have not actually flown a rocket.

Which leads me to believe in order to have an opinion on that subject you would have to have personally orbited the moon, or else how would you form an opinion?

So let me get this right unless you actually personally experience something yourself you can't form an opinion about that thing, is that what you are saying.

This is too fun, so what's it like giving birth? LOL

I hope I've answered your question

See you really are way nicer than me LOL.

As for the Bronco, she runs like a top 30 years old this year and I plan on pulling around, a 24ft travel trailer this summer with it.

Lot's of mods planned but my favorites will be what I can fashion as a short cap/cab conversion, I have located and bought two spare caps for the conversion tries so wish me luck.

Damn if I haven't found another 79 Bronco calling my name close by

I guess from the lack of a reply (Raider50) he's either pissed at me or has changed his view on life, or maybe he's having a baby so he can tell me what the experience is like

LMAO!!!! I'm really not that nice, I appreciate good humor and a man who has the onions to be candid. That's one of the things that attracts me to this site. I love rant mode and I really get off on all the opinions.

I am not pissed nor have I changed my view on life. I merely see no need to check my email when I wake up and then again later that night. I was sort of busy doing things today sorry I didn't make a snappy reply.

I don't believe I got my point across effectively and you miss understood what I was trying to say. Everything that I was saying was for automotive purposes only. Looking back on it I not stating it clearly enough could have reasonably caused some confusion. In the automotive world I believe if a person has no first had experience with a vehicle or product, there are plainly to many conflicting reviews based on opinions and not facts out there to properly evaluate somethings worth.

So with that said, from the best of my knowledge mr. smartass, I took your quote in context. Scene what I quated you as saying was pertaining to vehicles.

You best reply quickly or I might need to take a page out of your book and assume you are pissed off or have changed your view.

I apologize I was just having some fun with you, if you don't have a sense of humor that's OK some folks are born without one, it's not your fault.

No apology needed, it was simply a misunderstanding on both parts. Our senses of humor are total opposites of each other to a degree. I just misunderstood what you were saying the second time largely impart to it being impossible to hear a tone of voice through the medium of a internet forum.

Raider50: Has the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo ever been restored and reopened?

This is the hotel where Owen Wister wrote one of the finest novels that pertained to the wild west: The Virginian.

When I was there in 1990, the hotel was boarded up and looking rather forlorn.

Yes it is alive and open for business. It is part museum, hotel, and restaurant/bar right now. It has been open as long as I have been back here, so its been open scene at least 2000. It is the second fanciest place to eat in town, and is the nicest bar in town. I personally wouldn't go in there, even if I could.

Thanks for the info, I assume the Jim Gatchell Museum is still there, too.

Lots of stuff to look at in that museum, including some rare firearms.
