They had there 4x4 of the year contest. They had like 7 vehicles, one being a jeep wrangler rubicon, and one being a toyota, a rav-4 or something. Guess who won? The yoda. Anyone with common sense knows that the jeep rubicon is the best out of the box 4-wheeler made and should of won hands down, but no they pick some crossover half assed yoda as 4x4 of the year. Then as you look through the mag, you see a dozen yoda advertisments, so you know where they get thier money. I've never had a problem with fords quality over the years since I started driving in the 70's. A blind man can see the media biased against anything american. You guy's go suck up all the japanese junk you want, some people can break a cotton ball. If what you say is true, ford wouldn't even be around now or would they being doing the best of the american car makers. most of ford problems has little to do with quality and more to do with the UAW sucking them dry. You don't speak for the country either. Ford was concentrating on trucks and suv's, cause thats what the country wanted, then we get
4.00 a gallon gas, then all of the sudan ford is the bad guy for building trucks and suv's instead of gas sipping cars. Well now there building gas sipping cars. However, were still buying trucks and suv's, cause thats what we need here in the country. We don't want no econoboxes, we want gas at a decent price. So go drive your japanese junk, if your not part of the solution, then your part of the problem. Why are you even posting here, are you a troll or what? I'm sick of you ford bashers comming on here just to put ford down and brag up that japanese junk. Go post where there's other japanese junk lovers, we don't need that crap here. If ford is such junk, why are you even here, besides to piss me off? This site is called ford truck entusiasts, not ford bashers, so do like cow crap and hit the trail. Ford would have to take 3 steps backwards to match toyota quality.

consider this:

obamas private house is a 1.5 million dollar mansion, yet he claimed that he lives "with the people". which people might you ask? the ones that also live in his gated community with their multimillion dollar mansions?

im no political expert, but im pretty sure most of the people that voted him into office live in suburban middle-class neighborhoods, and send their kids to public school.

will we ever see a president that came from somewhere no different then us? that lives in just ONE house that isnt in the 7-figure price range, drives their own $15-20K vehicle, i doubt it. the average american joe cant be in that high of a position, you need money, connections, limo rides, and all that other rich-people crap we can only dream of.

President Harry S Truman fits the criteria. He lived in his MIL's modest home after he left the White House and purchased his own cars.

Truman's house in Independence MO is now a museum, the last car he owned is parked in the garage...it's around a late 1960's, early 1970's Chrysler.

Hey Tim,

Gas mileage might be one reason. Really depends on how many miles you put on the truck. At $2/gal you're looking at using all that savings up in extra gas after about 93k- @$4/gal it would be closer to 46k. I usually hit the 100k mark in 3.5 years. So for me it would start costing more before the truck is even paid off. On the flip side all that extra room would be nice.

I am using 14mpg avg on the SD & 18mpg on the F150- actual mileage may vary.

I do not think the majority of people that buy superduty trucks do it on the basis of fuel savings.
I want one largely because the loads i carry are simply to much for my F-150.
So I plan to buy an F-350 with V10 gassser.
Yes, it will use more gas, but it will also carry a lot of weight, and tow heavy loads easier.....that said I am very impressed how my F-150 tows a good sized load.

Oh, I don't know... all the threads in the SD forums about mileage tunes! Its painful at the pump! I know from experience, my Powerstroke gained nearly 30% with a good mileage tune and FICM programming.

The V10 can be tuned for a little more mileage as well, but there's less potential left on the table by Ford, especially with the current V10.

The super Dutys are nice, But Maintenance repairs are outragious..Now the cabs need to come off..I have Been driving them since 2000, first one was a F450, Now in 2007 I got a F550 Its a loaded Down service truck, across Cat scales loaded with fuel tops out at 18,500lbs gvwr is 19,000lbs...I average 6-8 mpg...
so toating a heavy load is a peice of cake..Slow start offs till turbo spools up then it will set me back in the seat.....under warranty at 60,000mls it was hard to crank, ford replaced the computer problem fixed, at 40,000mls it needed $4,000.00 in engine repairs hi-pressure pump issues..I was going to buy a SD 250 since I make my living outa a SD But decided After the 1000,000 mile warranty It would be very expensive to keep up..I still might get one at a later date..Theres some sweet Deals out there on the F350 duellies used so I might scarf one up in a year or so Unless I win the Lottery if so a Sweet F350 4x4 will be my first purchase...
